I think fadz played a massive role , clubs results with and without him show that

Oh without question. But even if I hadn’t apparently realised this at the time I made that original post, McNally was a huge upgrade over Rose and Panzo and made us so much more resilient. We became a totally different side once we phased those two out.

Can't hold if against him, it's endemic on this forum to double down on comments rather than say, yeah I got that one badly wrong

Ah why not? May as well enjoy it! Safe to say I clearly did not expect to be in this position back in February, and I was one of the more optimistic ones!

If you remove the games McFazdean didn’t play is there any difference ppg with and without McNally?

I'd argue we've been way better without him.
We missed Fadz way more when he's been missing, but Doyle and Mcnally have been outstanding.

If we had a chance to sign any of them I'd want to buy Doyle and Mcnally ahead of Hyam any day.

Robins is still sore about Hyam. Doyle has improved a lot, he was a liability earlier in the season distribution is still iff, but he has a lovely long pass in him. Fadz will make anyone look better with his reading of the game and that's the key here. McNally is far from the finished article wereas Hyam clearly is now.

If we go up - a sneaky move to bring Hyam back? We need at least 3 centre halves in the summer (presuming McNally will be joining us)

Central defence as a newly promoted club is the one position where you really need players who know what they’re doing at that level

for the money they would want, there would probably be better options

I'm looking forward to Fadz vs. Haaland.

As I've said, I'd have Mcnally over Hyam any day of the week and twice on a Sunday!

I think MR was sore because Hyam was sold behind his back, with no replacement or money available. I doubt MR would approach Blackburn to buy him back now regardless of what league were in next season.

McFadzean only: 18 games - 1.44 PPG; 1 GA/G

McNally + McFadzean: 20 games - 1.95 PPG; 0.75 GA/G

(PPG stats include the two playoff games)
