This whole debacle surrounding the academy/AHC has had me thinking of new academy bases. Whilst reading another article of a now ex school grounds looking for investment. Would it be so difficult to turn the land at Woodlands school in Tile Hill into our Base for the academy? Yes, granted it's outdated but the basics are there.
Gymnasium, changing rooms, ample football pitches, running track, room to build an indoor (cat 2 winter) pitch. They could even use the success of powerleague up there and maybe hire out what pitches aren't being used regularly to Sunday league and kids teams. Some of the better buildings could be used for conferencing for extra revenue.

Like I said..... Just a thought.

Just wait how quickly the City Council give planning permission for a housing estate once they know CCFC have designs on it ...!
Why not build the new stadium there???

Initial thoughts were stadium but it'd be a bitch of a ground to get to. 1 road in and one road out. Be great for me I could walk it in 2 mins

Sisu couldn't afford an allotment never mind any sort I investment like that. But that lads £500 they turned away to buy a season ticket would buy a wooden shed that they could store the kit in tho.
On a serious note £600k they recon they invest every year would go wonders on a site like that.

Im pretty sure the land there is already earmarked for housing developments. However I have raised a similar point previously, why on earth cant our owners get some additional funding (apparently Leonard Brody is good at that) build a new academy, base the academy there, rent it out when not in use they could rent it to the football club for the same costs we are paying for the Higgs. Sports centre are a safe bet to generate income. it would also give them something tangible to sell going forward, improve relations with the fans, possibly even improve relations with the Council. Wishful thinking I know, but if they wish to own a football club I would suggest this be pretty fundamental.

More pertinently though, why can't wasps build their training centre there?

I raised this point some weeks ago about Woodlands. It is prime for housing....but that could fund the Academy.. As I said then, time for Seppala to show these real estate skills she is supposed to have?
