he has his limitations, should score more, got a lot to learn etc, but in two goal shy teams in total he has scored 12 goals so far in 41 appearances. Not the worst record I have seen for a striker.

It's funny though isn't it - reflects the fact that our play has improved since he left and he made us play very one dimensional - they are saying the exact same thing.

Very few players have left and then gone on to better things. Even a fair player looks good when playing for an ordinary team. The only shining star who left and did well was Robbie Keane - but he never fulfilled his potential in my opinion.
