Only wanted by Liverpool and Stoke...

Even if true it means nothing. Liverpool signed a guy from Crewe once when 18 for over a million and he disappeared without trace.

Steve Daley was a million pound sensation in the 70s and ended up scraping a career in division 3.

He is wanted by no one now and despite his "technical ability" he is in the third tier.

Have they looked and and been interested in any players who have gone on to do well.

For Liverpool, we'll never know, he had that really bad injury and he was playing well before that. Another what if moment.

We do know. The article linking with a move to Liverpool was 2 jan 2011

He broke his leg at the end of Feb 2012

3 transfer windows passed before he had his bad injury and Liverpool didn't make a move for him - Jan 2011, Summer 2011 and Jan 2012. I assume they were just doing some scouting and a couple of papers put 2+2 together because Dalgleish was throwing money around like confetti.
