Would also at least make his growing pains this season more palatable.

Clearly he is weak defensively, but with these few months playing first team football and then a full pre season I think he will improve.

He is a threat going forwards though and it seems clear Robins isn't happy with Bidwell's attacking output.

Wouldn't be overly surprised to see Bidwell leave in the summer but if he does stay then he and JWE can complement each other nicely I think.

Still needs to improve a fair bit but, if true, hopefully the familiarity will see him settle down more and we'll see more from him.

I see him more as a winger than a w/b f/b Good going forward, good left peg and has pace, but not a great defender yet.

We definitely need more form the wing back areas than we've had recently regardless of who's being playing.
Wouldn't be unhappy with getting him for another season and I'm sure he'll kick on with this seasons experience under his belt.

Young lad settling into first team football hopefully we have done the early work to get the gain next season maybe the same on the other side as well.

Think he's looked the better of the two Loan WBs. Going forward anyway. Defensively poor but regular game time and coaching could improve that. If Bidwell goes and DaSilva comes in though I am not sure Man City would send him here if he's going to be understudy.

Lets hope he can persuade his young mate Doyle to do the same.

Doyle is another who I think will develop better further forward & another with a good left peg and normally very good passer, still not convinced about him at CB though.

Can’t see him making the Man City first team especially at centre-back.

He’s more likely to go to a club chasing automatic promotion next season.

I’d take that. He’s looked a lot better last couple of games and with the turnover in the summer another familiar face wouldn’t go amiss.

No way is he a midfielder. Will become a Premier league defender with this experience he is getting in the Championship. Needs to gain more strength which will come with age. Only concern is his lack of pace but I think he will make up for this with greater awareness and anticipation.

Why not? He was in league 1 and used sparingly by Sunderland and the loan was not a great success. Here he has kicked on a lot and he is no where near ready to be in the frame for his parent club. Could go to a lower end Premiership team but I think Man City will be more interested in him developing and playing matches.

Definitely agree to this. Sunderland fans were very nervous about Doyle's defending abilities but since he's been alongside Fadz, he has looked far more stable. Still has the occasional youthful brainfart and gets caught out of position but he's made more saving tackles than errors I reckon. And as Vik has said this season, he didn't want to move away because he was learning while he was on the pitch. Can't do much on the bench. And I'm sure Doyle and Man City would agree with that principle. MR and AV coach good football techniques so I can't see Guardiola or the Man City youth setup wanting to pull youngsters from that to put them into a lower Prem team (or a Champ team looking for solid consistency as they go for auto promotion) where their confidence may be drained or they sit on the bench for their loan stint.

JWE and BNC have both shown steps forward as well. BNC has some previous experience and I was hoping to see more from him but for some reason, it hasn't happened as quickly. JWE started slow (not surprising as this is his first loan spell away from his parent club) but he's started to show moments of ability. Using the same consideration as above, and with a proper pre-season, both could progress a lot with us.

If we were to miss out on promotion this season, having a defence containing JWE, Doyle, McNally and BNC doesn't worry me for next season as much as I'd expect. And if Fadz stays healthy, that's a good back line for our promotion prospects. If not, I can see Bidwell moving into the sweeper role and becoming the lynchpin.

I’d want a new RWB TBH, I don’t hate BNC but he’s not what I’d be looking for. I suspect we’ll need backup for Fadz as well, I’d be looking for an experienced head maybe 30/31 who can come in and do the same job but with a bit more mobility.

Need a new GK, though a lot less than we did six months ago TBF. If we can keep Hamer and O’Hare, loan back McNally, Doyle and Esbrand, add in Palmer, Allen and Sheaf and that’s a foot chunk of the first team retained and just a GK, RWB, ST needed, plus some competition in other areas like CM and ST.

I feel he would be a very good signing for next year and hope this is true. The early criticisms were unfair and people didn't take into account these were his first appearances in men's football barring a couple of substitute appearances in already won European games for Man City. Has a level of skill way above many in our squad. Does need to learn how to tackle though.

Agree, I'd look at getting a new RWB in as well, but I'd also keep Dabo as back up to challenge in that position. Think we'd see the best from him when he can properly work on his fitness and not be forced into the team when he's not 100%.
Burroughs obviously another option for that position, but maybe he'll be loaned out in the summer. Not featured much recently

I'm still not sure what I think of Norton-Cuffy, but probably wouldn't renew. Definitely shown glimpses, but I think Wilson-Esbrand has more potential overall and we could do with an upgrade on that right hand side

Joke
Garbage
Disaster

Amongst others.

Yes he had a slow start and yes he's a bit suspect defensively but there's obviously a talented young player there.

As if any of the experts on here actually know anything about or are qualified to comment on player’s abilities.

Going forward looks pretty impressive. Final ball needs work but that's what he's here for. As I said a few weeks ago, if he was one of our own making his first strides into the game, we'd be quite excited about his potential I think.

A season loan makes perfect sense for all concerned as he's only going to get better and gets to work on his defensive side of his game too.

What impressed me on Monday was the decision to lay back to Doyle for the cross to equalize. He was half past his man and has the skill to get a cross in but took the better option

Pleased if it happens, there's a player there and he is good at getting the clueless plums on this forum to out themselves in a match thread

Think this is a bit different as he joined late and in fairness is only now just finding his stride with a handful of games to go.

Really liking the links to City as they are one club who have a playing identity that runs tight through the club and is not overly dissimilar (in philosophy rather than level of execution) to ours.
