From a Scottish journalist:

Ross County have accepted an offer from Coventry City for left-back Josh Reid.

The highly-rated 18-year-old is discussing personal terms with the EFL side this weekend.

I’m told that Reid will return to County on loan until the end of the season, if the deal goes through.

Could be another Sam M kind of signing. But already playing in the Scottish Premiership as an 18 year old and an attacking left back. Sounds a perfect fit.

Also good to see we are investing and trying to sort that out because our options in Sam and Giles are loans.

Good work, following the model of buying young and developing but stepping it up a notch. Playing in the SPL already so has to have something about him and in a position of need. Get this over and we only need one more LWB next year.

Twenty appearances in the SPL as an 18-year-old is good going. That's a tough, physical league for a teenager to stand out in.

Only signed a new contract a few months ago. Manager speaks highly.

Dingwall teenager awarded new contract at Ross County

Full back rewarded for fine form.

I'd rather we weren't too reliant on the loan market, two LWB and 6 loanees is too much. Get this guy in and another and develop our own. McCallum obviously a good backup option if money is tight and Norwich are up for it.

The big question: is he better than Julian Gray?

Love this kind of signing.

Lb/lwb options need improving so it makes sense.

Didn’t we sign a youth player from non-league last season as a LB? Can’t remember his name.

Good if he signs also off the pitch the coaching team and Robins are continuing to plan for next season irrespective of what division we are playing at.

Feels like a rather astute signing. Talk in that article of him being very attacking so feels like he would excel in a wing back role. Be interested to know whether he will be considered first choice for next season.

First time I’ve got in there with it first for ages.

Another one for the future by the look of it.

Tierney and Hickey as well. Though Hickey also plays midfield as well so probably hasn't found his true position.

It’s funny how people react to a signing without knowing anything about the player

He could be the next Stuart Pearce or the next Stuart Urqhuart and no one knows

Can’t see that they will want him to experience a different club and maybe way of playing.

If they did that they might as well let him go permanently to us
