How much is Goodrham valued for at Oxford. Saw there fans going on about him being worth ten million to the club. But imagine that is way off.

Seems fair enough... He has 2 options: 1) Work hard & do it; or 2) Ask for a transfer.

At least he's telling him, rather than giving the cold shoulder.

Agreed. Good to hear that as it was an issue for Lampard at Chelsea.

Yeah for sure. I’d have a stab at saying somewhere between that £3m-£5m number

He can play RW, LW or AM so could be quite a versatile option for us

I really rate Eccles but it appears Lampard is not too keen. It’s all a bit strange as he only signed a new contract a few weeks ago

I think it got said the extension was triggered by certain conditions being met.

Three year extension isn’t normal. That’s usually a new contract.

Both Eccles and Allen although fair championship squad players and you can't deny the effort, they are not consistently good enough to be starting in a team every week that's serious about a top 6 finish.

Carried by Hamer and Gyok

Barnsley and Huddersfield made the playoffs in recent seasons, and the majority of those players took them down to League 1. It’s not enough to use that as justification to play them forever.

Eccles is a poor player, Sheaf hasn’t turned up all season

If the squad has L1 players how come they are 3 points off the playoffs

This is a bit of a strawman argument because we had Vik and Hamer. Players like Eccles, Allen and others were a good supporting cast but by no means real game changers.

Last season, we lost every game bar 5-6 games against the top 12.

This is also nonsense, Eccles is a good championship CM who gives a 7/10 performance most games. As for Sheaf, still consistently one of the best defensive CMs in the league and he’s been injured all season (injections to get through games).

As a pair, they’re both solid defensively but they’re not top players in terms of shot creation and progressive carries and so on. A player who is good at those things is Grimes so we will compliment Sheaf excellently when he’s back.

Just because a player hasn’t started a few games, it doesn’t mean they’re terrible players and on the transfer list. The same things were being said about Kitching, Dovin, Allen, Simms and BTA at points this season and the people peddling these narratives look foolish, again!

Thought he gave us an energy tonight that Torp struggles to give us . Him and Grimes could be a useful partnership when our attacking players are all fit

He did well but to be fair he was playing a different role in a different formation to Torp.

Havent seen Torp play well in a midfield two very often . Think Allen and Eccles are definitely more suited too it

It's Lampards preferred formation though ?
Grimes needs legs alongside him as he likes to sit and dictate , will be interesting to see how him and Sheaf work as a pair

Here we go again. Didn't shit the bed and he's such a quality player and the answer lol

Nothing changes for me. Decent squad player. If lampard starts him fine but for me torp is top of the pecking order for that final spot

If/when we go back to 4 at the back then I don't think Torp is suited to playing in a two (if its a 4231), Eccles would be better there.

But presumably the intention is for it to be Grimes and Sheaf, which if the latter can find last seasons form is a scarily gold prospect.
