What a season he’s having this year. I know he gets his detractors buts hes got more progressive passes and high pass completion than Hamer this year.

Like a stuck record but this kid is the real deal
He's added consistency to his game now and imo was our best player Saturday again and this time it was a high bar

Nah, you're wrong. He's L2 standard and we should get rid.

Why is Hamer's pass completion rate so s**t?

And where's the incredible Alan Browne?

He needs more goals, the one Saturday was his first proper goal as the other couple he scored were both deflections

Probably due to hamer being placed on the wing (which is maddening)

He does a lot of dirty work too, breaking up play and covering players out of position.

To be fair, whilst impressive it also depends on where you're playing, what your role is in the team, how the team is set up to play, the positions you get on the ball and who you have around them.

Get your point but he was our best player while the rest were mediocre

He's had a good season so far. Consistently never below a 6 out of 10 every game, usually a 7/10, which is what you need from all players if you want to compete at the sharp end.

Yeah don’t disagree. Midfield should have decent passing stats in a possession team but think it shows a progression in his game and shows him stepping up.

Looks like we got fortunate that Hackney got his marching orders early!

But it also shows we have been a little more direct, we no longer have 10 to bridge that gap or carry that ball 10-15 yards up the pitch, so he has had to be more progressive.

Just put 2 and 2 together, and realised that was him. Over 12 progressive passes per 90 is insane.

Sheaf, Eccles and Sakamoto. That will be our Promotion winning midfield.

Consistency has always been his biggest asset . He never hides on the pitch , he does the dirty work and is good in possession. This year he has hit a lot of balls over the top for players and his progressive passing has become quicker too . Also his crossing ability has vastly improved since his early days on corner duty .
A few more goals and he is up there with the best in the division.

Didn't Saddle mention a couple of Premier League clubs expressed an interest in the summer ?

Josh Eccles is genuinely one of our most important players and for me, one of the first names on the team sheet.

I am slightly concerned that he will get those goals and it will be him that teams come in for next summer rather than Sheaf.

And do you know what, he's only 24 as well. Easy to forget that he's still a few years (4 or 5) from being at his peak.

There can't be many 24 year olds playing in the Championship with over 100 games at this level.

I have no doubt he will be on the radar of a few Premier League clubs if he continues his form .
Good job we tied him down to a long contract

You're concerned he might score goals and reach a level where he's wanted by a better team? It's an odd concern to have tbh.

Well... Obviously not that element. I just don't want to lose both of them at the same time or for bidders to undervalued Sheaf because they would rather have Eccles.

I don't think Bidwell would undervalue Sheaf or any of his teammates for that matter

I love Eccles and Sheaf but their shooting is absolute garbage let’s be fair. They need to start getting these spoon shots on target more often and they will be hot properties but every time they get the ball outside the box I shout don’t shoot. They contribute a lot and work hard just need to finish their game off.
