He is finding another level, love it, he's learning to see it the one that was off target was hit perfectly but off target!

There has got to be a variation on Jennifer Eccles by the Hollies that becomes Eccles' song

He will always split opinion no matter what he does, its the way it is for him. I rate him and think he has way more to come. He definitely is trying to look forward quicker and has shown he can hit his target. I just wish he picked up a few more goals that is something he needs to add to his game

That always baffles me. This notion that he only passes sideways and backwards. Some of his through balls are sublime at times.

He's an excellent player at this level.

Like it but would change the last line to:

Not a barm, or even a scone.

“We love Joshua Eccles,
We know he loves City,
We love Joshua Eccles,
The <insert top level midfielder he’s a bit like> of Coventry”

Change the barm for biscuit, and you are on to a winner.

One day this forum will collectively realise how good Eccles is. Hopefully it'll be while he's still here, but maybe it'll be when he gets a move to a higher ranked team.

Saddlebrains said this summer there was interest from a premier league club .
If he keeps improving there will be more than one next summer

There were times in the first half when he was the only composed player on the pitch and he really stood out. He’s an excellent player. And the huge thing for us is that he always plays, that’s crucial for us this season.

I've always thought he's a decent Championship midfield player. Good to have in the squad but ideally not your first choice.

I'm starting to think he's a very good Championship midfield player now. He's been excellent in the majority of games this season, despite poor performances around him. Very impressed.

It's been said on here by others that if he had been bought from abroad for a few million lots more fans would love him .
He seems weirdly undervalued because he's an academy product

Eccles & Sheaf could be the best CM partnership in the division if they stay fit.

When Torp first signed Viveash said that he might find it difficult to break into the team as we have one of the best midfields in the league

Which is another thing going in his favour now. Used to be in for a few games but was always a bit of a pansy picking up niggles etc which would see him out again. Think Robins also alluded to it once upon a time. Can’t use that stick to beat him with now though. Had a great game.

He's been arguably the most consistent player for us so far this season.

What I like about him is how he seems to be continually improving- imagine how much he will develop in the next two years?

He will be as good, if not better than Sheaf.

I think the reason people might not immediately put him high on their list is that he just looks normal. He picks up the ball, makes a nice pass and quietly moves into a good position for the next phase. What you don't realise is that he's putting in 15+ tackles, he doesn't give the ball away and he keeps pinging cross field balls that create an attack.

If he went on mazy runs like Rudoni or got flying down the wings he'd stand out, but he just plays that midfield role like a consumate professional. Quietly and with quality.

Gone up a level this year…again. Range of passing has improved. Him, Sheaf and Rudoni is a very good midfield 3 at this level. Torp as backup. Allen making the teas.

I dunno about Shaggy, but when him and Torp are on the field together I have to look at their boots to tell which one is which. Eccles wearing bright Orange on Tuesday was thoughtful of him, albeit Robins knew I was struggling so just left Torp on the bench for me.
