He was fantastic today. I think all he needed was the confidence of a run of first team games. Now I can understand why Robins prefers him to Kane in that position.

Did well overall but very suspect one on one defensively.

So harsh today, don’t think he was found wanting more than a couple of times

Out of position and been up against some top class players recently.
Robins trusts him , that's good enough for me

Got some ridiculous over the top criticism earlier in the season

For a young lad playing out of position he's doing really well and I'll happily have him over Kane

Eccles has come up against some of the best players in the division in this run of games and he puts himself about and doesn’t hide. He’s been part of this success. Fair play to the lad and great to see.

Playing out of position, up against some top players and stood up to it well, does the simple things well generally, gets his foot in, breaks things up, has a decent cross, makes himself available by never hiding, growing confidence and a integral part of the best defence in the league. What's not to like, and he has potential to get better in two key positions

Great to see him growing in confidence. Absolutely superb cross for Gyökeres’ hat-trick chance.

Apparently out for another couple of months.

Really frustrating and I'd love to be able to pencil him in as a long term successor in our central midfield, but the guy gets injured for prolonged periods so much I don't think we'll be able to rely enough on his presence to do so.

Hope he gets back quick. We've got too few bodies as it is.

Eccles could be quality for us but the last 3 seasons he's been injured for 2 months +, 4 times.

Ridiculous. He’s been great this season, playing out of position and having the boo boys on his back after the Sunderland game. His injuries are a concern, but he’s a real prospect. If we lose Hamer or Sheaf through injury or transfer, he will step up (in his true position)

Plus he's only 22. Would be very daft to write him off at such a young age.
