I think the signings of Drysdale and Williams spelled the end for Thompson. Wouldn't be surprised if he never came back as his contract is up next summer. Suppose it depends on how he does this season though.
Looked a good prospect in the academy but having brought in Williams and Drysdale with Thompson filling in at RB I think MR has decided it's unlikely he'll be pushing on.
Shame, but how it goes. Trouble is even if he impresses it'll be the argument that it's too low a standard to psuh him up the pecking order. However I do think he has a "+1" on his contract so if he did well we could hope to send him out to a league team next year?
