Good stuff. Hopefully can get a few more contract extensions sorted before the end of the season.

When's he back? Surprised we've given him a new contract before we know how well he's recovered.

Id hold fire on JOB until we know what league we will be playing in next season, he is not championship standard.

Both have already played in the championship and dont see no reason that both could not be part of a squad that would add depth and competition within a group. No brainer, for me good to get Willis on board, young enough to get better and develop with TM.

Even if not he's got plenty of time to develop at 21 and can be a good back up

This is nothing but great news, tying our quality youngsters down to multi year contracts is brilliant. Would hate to lose what could turn out to be a quality player for a nominal fee due to there contract soon finishing

Disagree. Played well for Barnsley in the league above. First name I would put on the team sheet.

He's only 21 and still developing. Even if he proves not to be good enough for the championship (if we get promoted), it's hardly a gamble.

Yeah I wasn't really meaning it against Willis more saying that saying JOB doesn't not deserve one for that reason was slightly harsh

Good signing, clearly a talented individual and consistent performer in a poor side last term.

Willis was supposed to be back before Christmas but suffered another injury in his first U21 game

Can't be back soon or they would have mentioned it in the article. He was in that photo with Reda yesterday so they must be up to some light fitness training at the least.

well the barnsley lads I know all said the same, he tries hard, runs about a lot but isn't good enough at championship standard, a lot of their fans liked him because of his work ethic.

sounds a bit like Michael Doyle and some of our fans

If we go up and are looking to progress further, I certainly would not be in a rush to keep him.

Everyones entitled to their own opinion I guess.

Without wanting to sound like I'm starting a poll (as I'm not ) where do people prefer him to play?

For me he's a CB. Just not sure that he suits RB, and how many CB's have pace, which is something he offers?

He might not have height in his favour but he's a strong lad and gets up well against bigger opposition

I agree that CB is his strongest position, after watching Willis and Pennington in complete control against Walsall away last season, I thought we would be sorted for this term..... Great news on Willis, has Pennington had any game time at Everton?

One cup game maybe but don't think any more than that.

Good news, well done that lad. Nothing fancy, just gets on with his task at hand, and we've probably missed his steadiness at the back.

Personally, I think Willis and Martin would make an excellent CB pairing.

He played CB through youth didn't he? And that was when he was tipped for bigger things. I think he's a CB, not got the ball skills for a full back for me.

Didn't they play together last season? Always thought Martin looked at his most vulnerable playing alongside a younger player

Martin come into his own last game of the season when Mowbrey said "all I want him to do is, head it and kick it away. Other people are in the team to play the fancy football." A great way of taking the pressure off and a lets get back to basics approach.
