JORDAN Clarke has been quick to explain himself after venting his frustrations on Twitter with a foul-mouthed tweet that begged more questions than answers.
The Coventry City full-back, who conceded a first-half penalty against non-league Wrexham on Tuesday night * when the club's new-look back four and team as a whole had a shocker * caused a stir on the Twittersphere where his post-match rant was retweeted by others 50 times by 10am on Wednesday morning.

The young defender tweeted after the 4-1 defeat: “Can't even say what I wana say on here. The frustration is building and building. F**** pathetic, end f**** of.“

But clarifying what he meant by the knee-jerk comments which fans could have interpreted as a dig at manager Andy Thorn, he said: “As a professional, I want to win every game I play in * whether it's pre-season or not * and that's two or three games that we have lost now.

“I am frustrated by that.
Totally frustrated and annoyed by it because I don't want to go all the way to Wrexham and take a battering.

“I am sure all supporters would want the players to feel this way.

“I am angry with myself and, as a team, we are all frustrated by the last couple of results and I don't think our supporters would expect anything different.“

He added: “The manager has put massive faith in me over the past year or so and has brought me through so I would never bad mouth him on Twitter or anywhere else for that matter. The same goes for the rest of the coaching staff.

“Of course, you prefer to make your mistakes in pre-season rather than when the real season starts but I can't hide the fact that I want to be winning those games and I want myself and the team to be playing at the highest standard.“

I think by saying that , he is confirming that is exactly what he did do - trouble ahead!

Hmmm ..... Yep I did criticise the manager but I had better backtrack from that comment?

Who knows.

At least he seems to have tried to explain himself.

I asked him if the manager was good enough! Maybe that's what he's in about? Don't know!

His tweet doesn't make sense if it is just about the game.

“Can't even say what I wana say on here. The frustration is building and building. F**** pathetic, end f**** of.“

He can't say what he wants to say? 'F***** pathetic, end of?' Doesn't that kind of say it all?

Mountain out of a mole hill springs to mind!!!!!!!!!!!

Some must be bored to pick on a statment that can be interepted in anyway you want it to make a headline... Just a young frustarted pro who doesnt want to lose, thats how i read it.

I'd prefer to know the team are passionate, if he genuinely is pissed off by his and the team as a wholes performance and not just covering up that he had a rant about the manager I see it as a positive thing

In what way is it possible to twist that meaningless rant into a "dig against Thorn?" - I'd say his explanation covers it perfectly.

How do you come up with this conclusion? He has said the tweet was aimed at his own and the players failings again. No bad thing, i want to know they care, i am sure we all do. He has backed thorn for putting faith in him, he said he wouldn't bad mouth him anywhere. He has effectivley said it isn't a dig at the manager, yet everyone has decided it is, so regardless of what he says we shall go along those lines again!! He may be young, but he's old enough to know common sense.

He wouldn't say that in an interview with Andy Turner, so he shouldn't have it published on the internet where everyone can see.

If you examine why he was saying it, rather than what then it becomes more complex.

I assume that his twitter account is his 'public face' - and as such he is representing himself as a member of CCFC. So who was he saying this to? CCFC fans. Why was he saying it to them?

He wasn't required to make a comment so soon. He could have held off, but he chose to make this statement. He should really learn about consequences of actions before thinking.

The rest of us have to in our jobs...

Well, this confirms one thing - his tweet was not prompted by his cat's bowel movements!
I'm sure NLHWC will be disappointed...

It suits some people to think there is more to it. Than the reasonable and completely believeable explaination from the author.
