Deal collapsed with Barnsley. 15 goals for a struggling Oldham side last year. If he can prove his fitness. Sign him up.

Any reason given why it collapsed?

Could not agree personal terms. Oldham fans speaking of their relief saying that when he played. He was the difference to keeping them up.

If he can't agree terms with Barnsley, I can't see us being able to meet his wage demands.

The term could have been his squad status would be back up, whereas he wanted first team status?

Just a thought, but lots of factors in contracts other than just the wage.

True, Could have been, but i can't see Barnsley wanting to sign him as back up as like us they struggled to score last season too.

Good point, although Barnsley were slashing their wage bill after relegation, it will be more stable now. I would imagine their overall budget is slightly bigger than ours, although Barnsley chairmen runs a tight ship, they were making a small profit in the championship despite having the second smallest turnover,

If TM is interested, I'm sure there's already been some dialogue.

Read the article and they seem to think an ongoing injury is why he went off the boil last year which would be a concern.

And in relation to Barnsley, they did spend money on Sam Winnall so maybe they were prioritising their budget in other areas.

Hes under contract but I think Oldham picked him up on the free transfer the season before. Seems that they are looking to cut their wage bill so will command a small fee if any. Worth a punt if he can prove his fitness. At 29 he has a few years in him yet and experience of champ/L1.
