Coventry City Football Club and ACL issue joint statement

Coventry City Football Club and ACL have today released a joint statement as follows...

“Talks aimed at reaching a mutually acceptable rent level for Coventry City Football Club’s use of the Ricoh Arena are progressing, although these have been delayed by the Olympics events at the Ricoh and the summer holiday period.

“Our aim is to continue with discussions over the coming weeks, with the objective of reaching a mutually agreed solution as soon as is practicable.”

Was there any point releasing this..? :thinking about:

i think there are more important things to worry about than that, like playing better football and trying to get near the top of the division and not the bottom !!

Don't we always moan when we're kept in the dark and not told anything?

Reassurance for the potential candidates.Don't know if its sufficient to dispel the negativity for anyone willing to look beneath the surface.

Difficult to reach an agreement until they know what league we will be playing in next year as L2 clubs wouldn't be expected to pay as much as L1 due to declining attendances. I would expect somewhere north of £10k p/a to be the figure Fisher has mind.

This is a difficult one so here goes. Yes, the rent is exhorbitant for a club in our position BUT who got us into this position? Yes, you guessed correct SISU. They knew the terms of agreement before they bought us so they can hardly complain now. On the other hand they are trying to make us competative on the pitch so any reduction in of the pitch finances has to be applauded. But if you were the ACL which stance would you take?
