Nice bit of support for www.FixFootball.co.uk ePetition and perhaps even more importantly a display of much needed fan unity -

One thing just about every Coventry City fan agrees on is that an independent inquiry, to call to account all those responsible for the mess the Sky Blues are in, would be a positive step.

We hear far too much about disagreement and conflict regarding CCFC. What we need to do is focus more on what we have in common – our shared memories of the highs and lows of following the City, that we belong in Coventry and supporting calls for an independent inquiry.

The way to try to get an independent inquiry is by signing the petition that has been set up at FixFootball. The petition got off to a flying start, has close to 20,000 signatures and is already 14th out of over 5,000 available to sign on the government’s official petition website.

But there’s a long way to go to reach the target of 100,000 and we would urge everyone who cares about Coventry City to sign the petition: whether you’re a past or present season ticket holder, one of the 30,000 who were at the Ricoh for the game against Crewe just last year, or perhaps one of the 250,000 people who turned out on the streets of Coventry the day after we won the FA Cup.

In fact it doesn’t even matter whether you’re a Sky Blues supporter – this is something that affects every football fan and every Coventrian.

Of course, there would be no need for any of this if the different parties stopped spending money on lawyers and instead just sat round a table and talked to each other. But with no sign of that happening, supporting the petition for an independent inquiry might just help with sorting out the Coventry City mess and building a more positive Sky Blue future.

Dare we say, ‘Let’s all SIGN together!’
