Just seen we are one of the favourites for the JPT as would be expected but what do people really think about winning the trophy? Obviously promotion needs to be a priority but i think if we could win the trophy as well it would give the club a buzz we havent had since '87 (although few things could beat THAT win) and could mean more confidence in the Championship? At 14/1 odds, might just be worth a punt? Wonder what the odds are for the double

Yeah i know mate but I was only 3 then...and I just cant see that ever happening again so it would be nice if we grab the opportunity to take the fans to wembley again this year.

We should go all out too win it as i can't see us going up. How many of the signings would you have said yes he is the one we need? Most of the players are unheard of, injury prone or unproven, that's why they are free. A top 1/2 half finish should be expected, maybe a squeak of the play off's if every one jells quickly and the strikers are more prolific than they look on paper.

So, how many have you heard of and therefore know how they'll play? And which ones are injury prone? And how would you know they're injury prone if you don't know who they are?

All i hear is "Blah blah blah blah, im a moany sky blue supporter..."

God...we don't know what they can do...so what? We have made 7 bloody signings this season + several more in the pipeline...BE. HAPPY. ABOUT. IT! It's more than we had last season...AND...we can't sign the sort of players you obviously want the club too as we are a league 1 team. These signings are the sort of signings that all the clubs in our league dream of so take that as a good sign and leave the rest of your thoughts until christmas when we've had a chance to actually see them in action!

And on that happy note...i'd love to see us win this trophy. I would be at Wembly for this no doubt!

In all honesty i didn't know a great deal about Fox, Dann or Westwood either and they turned out okay! For a DIV ! team i think are squad is looking good. I for one think we will be there or thereabout this year.....Promotion, yes i think we can.

I couldn't give a toss that this is a Micky Mopuse Cup. In terms of the enjoyment I would feel on the day, amongst a sea of 40,000 others in Sky Blue, half cut, face painted, belting out the sky blue song, I'm not even sure I'd notice the difference between this and 87 (and I was at Wembley in 87). Bring. It. On.

North I think (on the basis that Northampton were last year and they are more Southern than us).

I see some people still think we have no chance of promotion. Why not? Better teams than us? Who are they all then?

Now for the wisecracks about AT I suppose

In 87 we didn't have great players, well at least not to everyone else. But there was great team spirit. They played for each other. We ended up winning the cup and having a good league finish. I have a feeling AT is bringing a bit of the crazy gang sort of players and mentality to our club with the players he has been signing. Maybe not the best players, but players to give him the 120% he wants. That would be enough for Div3.

we need a good start to the season if we're going to go up we need to beat yeovil and sheffield and build on that and then i think we will go up if we lose then i think it will be a hard battle

Any trip to Wembley is special: I hope that AT puts out stringest team in JPT and LC games. The chance to play against Champ/Prem teams to judge our progress is important too.

To be fair, with the way the FA Cup is going lately, it'll be as prestigious as the Johnstone's Paint Trophy!

Not at all bothered about it, would much rather concentrate on going back up at the first attempt.

I'd like to see them do well in the Paint Pot Trophy! A trophy is a trophy after all. It would show that we are better than all the other teams around! Then a good push for promotion! YEAH!!!!!

Definatley value at 14/1. There's nobody to fear. MK Dons need to get promotion this season so i can't see them getting very far, likewise Sheff Utd. Swindon Town maybe fancy it, possibly Rotherham United? There's always a dark horse, Notts County? I have a feeling the Sky Blues will do the double one way or another. Either the JPT and the Playoff Final, or JPT and League 1 Championship. Get your money on!

I think the winners of the Johnstones Paint trophy should be given a place in the Champions League, group stage

whether you think it is a good cup to win or not, every Cov fan should want to win it.

A day out at wembley, and money for the club at the very least.

Then again im sure 'League one' winners will be just as cringeworthy in comparison to our previous trophy.

Yes but we're not prem league any more. The closest weve come to repeating the glory was in what? 98 or 99 and we couldn't beat a team a div below us in our 1/4 final.

I'd say having something actually in the trophy cabinet makes it less cringeworthy... Unless sky blue felt cover is your thing
