subbed after 26 mins and given a guard of honour by chelsea players as he trundles off.

Taking it too far, or deserved?

I don't particularly like him but can't argue with his record as a player!

too far, well over the top. Just clap him off the pitch at the end. Stage managing his exit, fucking nonsense.

In today's football, anything is possible!

Bet he got an appearance fee just for that short time on the field too 'just for sentimental reasons'

Referee shouldn't have allowed it. Was a total joke.

Want to give him a send off like it? Have a testimonial. Don't do it during the proper season even if the division is decided

Should have gone off at half time instead of this 26mins nonsense.

Bit dodgy to agree that the ball will go out of play at a certain time.

Yep, that goalie lost his job for eating a pie and they put the ball out on purpose for a token sub.

Did they get done for time wasting? What a load of shite.

Arranging to fix certain events during a football match? Sunderland wouldn't do that would they?
Small time wankers bending over for Chelsea. Should have told Terry to fuck off.

Given what happened to that keeper eating the pie when it was impossible for him to be part of the game as they'd already used all their subs what will happen here?

Dodgy though. Somebody must have let slip that it was going to happen. Would never cross my mind to bet on something like that.

Absolutely is dodgy...but as we all know the big clubs in the premier league 'can do no wrong' and therefore it will get buried unless the betting firms really kick up a fuss

Can't stand John Terry. Never liked him. Full-time tosser. He should just slink away.

I'd guess a slap on the wrist at most, because it was a 'nice' moment.

In fairness the Ref should've booked him for timewasting.

Beyond that I think it was quite a nice sentiment from a club/employer that he's given so much to.

That's what a testmonial will be though, a match dedicated to him.

I'd have loved it if Sunderland said yes we'll kick the ball out at set time, but instead went upfield and scored. Then did a guard of honour celebration for the goalscorer !

Chelsea and sunderland have previous for this sort of nonsense

Personally think it is over the top but nothing worth getting upset over
