Not seen a thread on this. Apparently we want a loan but Forest want to sell. How far along/likely is this deal? @Saddlebrains @GIMOC

40 grand a week, can’t see it happening.

Because we have no experienced centre halves and only have 4 anyway. This includes Lati who isnt a specialist in any position from what ive seen to date.

Wouldn't take him at half of that. Mental money, gross how teams like Forest get away with their financial crookery . I'm sure there are better options out there

Think we'd opt for someone like McNair over Worrall

If Worrall comes in he's going to be starting surely. I'd rather see us just stick with Thomas. He won't come cheap and especially if it's a loan we'd be better off developing our own players imo.

yeah but the wages he'd want would take upmost of our budget

he's on 40k a week a Forest and even if Forest pay some of that it is still going to be more than we should be paying for him.

Can’t see us buying him with the wages he’s on.

I can see why we’re after another centre half. Currently going into next season with the same back 5 that conceded a lot of goals.

We want another centre half with experience so yes Worrall would be the type

However, wage wise I can't see it

We are crying out for an experienced defender. Currently we have the exact same defence that leaked lots of goals last season

This is it. Let's look at it as we are now with the 'stronger' rumours knocking about

Camara and Worrall

Camara - has been over, but sticking point being we cannot guarantee he starts with MVE, Tats ahead of him down the right. Preston can. I still think he won't come here

This would then leave Latibeaudiere to cover the MVE RB slot. He can do a job, but if we spend time training him to be pure RB and not a jack of all trades if we get the depth we want, then I don't think anyone has an issue with that

Worrall - the experienced CB we want. But wage is an issue. Plus you would assume he wants to start regularly. Do we drop Thomas? I don't think so he's progressed well last season.

So again, wages and position, I can't see it though I'd love it I think he would be a fantastic signing

The CB Conundrum is difficult as we have a great CB In Thomas already, don't want to stunt his growth but need an older head of the same ability for depth and little outlay

Conor Coady? More suited to a back 3 but would definitely fill that experience/leadership void.

He's on about a million a week no chance

Can’t see him staying at Leicester so they might have to accept a loan where they cover a high percentage of his wage. I think he’ll end up at a championship club next year.

I like to think camera would back himself to force himself in, surely. No one is ever guaranteed first team football apart from elite few.

Looking at club and upward trajectory, could be good place for camera to showcase and develop. But hey ho, again if don't want part of it, no worries.

Agree on Worrall - we won't be paying anything near those wages, but he's type we need, perhaps someone touch older who's happy to play circa 20 games a year, as you say Thomas has high ceiling and just needs to iron out to inconsistent games.

He's not even that much more experienced than Kitching, in terms of appearances anyway.

And our defensive record wasn't even that bad - half the teams above us conceded more.

If he’s willing to take a 50% paycut minimum sure

But 5 years of Championship experience and 1 year of PL as he played 30 games not last season but the season before. He has been involved in a side that has gone up and not only that stayed up could be essential experience, he was there captain as well wasnt he? Or was that Yates?

our top earning attacker (current US international) is on ~20k per week there is zero chance we hand out similar to a centerback unless they are absolutely class or have massive sell on value

This seems like the sort of player we’ll chase, end Up being priced out of and he’ll go to Sheffield United

We have Burroughs, back from a successful loan at Lincoln, to prove cover for MVE. I suspect that, assuming he stays with us, Lati will mainly provide cover at CD next season.

I'm not sure i agree with this bit. You wouldn't tell the guy he's a backup player nor would you tell MVE and Sakamoto they are guaranteed to start every week. You tell him he'll be coming to earn his place. On top of that i think they'll all be rotated plenty anyway.

Leaked lots of goals = 8th best defence in the end but only due to a poor end to the season, it'd been top 6 for the majority of it.

yeah but I would imagine the player/agent will have eyes! MVE and Sakamoto are pretty big competition.. PNE have got Potts and Seary

So you are saying you wouldnt sign another centre half? 8th best defence isnt getting you into the play offs or beyond is it?

14th best defence got into the playoffs and promoted. Ipswich conceded 2 less and got automatic.

We can definitely be better in defence but it's not the trainwreck it's often made out to be.

Of course we haven't told him that, but himself and his agent would have to be deaf and blind to not know he wouldn't be first choice when he joins

Depends if he backs himself to oust MVE and Tats I suppose

RB we have Milan, JL, Eccles at a push and even Burroughs. LB we have a maybe staying Bidwell and Dasilva. We’re looking to recruit on the wrong side for me.
