Okay within realistic parameters who would you like to see Steven Pressley bring in as Joe Murphy's replacement should Smurf leave for Huddersfield?

Lee Burge will replace him as he will be nice and cheap.

Mmm...you say that as if he's crap. He's a good keeper and if Murphy goes (which I hope the doesn't) then he deserves his chance. Don't use it as another stick.

I agree, I think we'll bring someone in maybe just on a 1 year contract as number 1 with Burge as back up.

There's a few keepers available

I expect Burge to start. However ii do also expect another keeper to come in.
Scott Shearer would have been ideal.

If we are to bring in someone else (I doubt we will though)...Jamie Ashdown?

Sadly i think he will go, if there is any truth around the Baker rumour of trying to get rid of him then it could be that Murphy got a simialar response in a further bid to reduce wage bills.

Our squad is so threadbare it's scary. Full of young kids really. Murphy goes then it's great to give Burge a go but then that is another position where we have lost experience for youth. We need plenty of signings and I can't see that happening. I hope I am wrong.

Bolton. Played 17 games last season. Still 12 months to run on his current deal and talk is their manager would happily extend it further if he's willing to stick it out and fight for his place.

Adam Legzdins could be a good one to go for. 27, just been released by Derby. Perennial bench warmer last season (0 games, 38 bench selections) but did play 31 games the year before in the Championship.

Only other names that spring to mind are Ashdown (who I mentioned on the last page) and Peter Brezovan. Arran Lee Barrett is in talks with Bolton over an extension, Neil Alexander is being chased by Hearts, and after that you're scraping the bottom of the barrel with 40 year old Carlo Nash. Kuszczak is way out of our league and past that point I'd just say go with Burge.

Think Fulup maybe free again. However I am sure wages would be an issue

That's probably true, Don. However, I think that the FFP rules are starting to put downward pressure on wages, and not before time in many cases.

My thoughts about next seasons signings is that they're more likely to be players you never heard of before, as the salary expectations of anyone you heard of will exceed the budgeted amount.. except if relegation becomes an issue that the executive management want to avoid they will possibly sanction a few loanees towards the end of the season to stiffen up the squad.

Stick Razor Ruddock between the sticks. If he stands in the middle of the goal and we stick a full back on each post -= clean sheet. Wages would be a big pie at half time and two big pies after the match. Job's a good 'un
