Legend! Arise, Lord of the Penalty Box!

As I've said before, he's as good a keeper as we could hope for under the circumstances.

Fully agreed. Won us so many points on his own

The other day I was thinking who would be the player I would least want to not lose. I had been watching extended highlights on the Player, Murphy.

He's still a cult hero up in these parts. Could never understand all the negative comments on here and on other sites about him. He is a good keeper especially at this level.

I've been, maybe critic is the wrong word as I rate him as a keeper, but have never thought he has cut it at Championship level, of Murphy since we signed him.

However I've always maintained any league one club would be lucky to have him on their books and his performances since our relegation have proven this IMO.

He has been an outstanding player for us last season and even more so this season.

Today he kept us in the game single handily and the penalty save just capped off his performance.

I do hope that when we get promoted (yes, when!!!) he is still our number one and he can take this form into the Championship and prove me wrong, I really do

The man needs a new improved contract. Top 3 keeper in the division

What about when we get promoted? Where would he fit in the championship?

He was top drawer today, thats for sure, not just the penalty save, the first half he was outstanding.. and the way he ran to chastise the lino for their penalty..just brilliant!!

the way he reacts to every decision (and i'm not knocking him before people start), I'm surprised he hasn't been booked for descent

We should have been at least four goals down at half time the reason we weren't was Joe Murphy then to save the penalty was theicing on the cake top man:claping hands:

Think he is a top goalie...due to his age think we could hang onto him possibly with a new contract...if we can afford him....been top drawer for us this year!!

We walked back to the car with a couple of Rotherham fans... although upset at the loss they acknowledged Joe's first half performance, said he was outstanding.. the difference between 3/4 -0 down at half time.... they also graciously agreed that second half we were the better side.
