Was it only me but did Joe Murphy kick the ball violiently into the crowd after last nights winning penalty as if to say F**k Off????

Also I do not understand why only chris hussey celebrated scoring his penalty? It does not matter what level of football you play winning a penalty shoot out is a buzz but for some reason our players did not celebrate at all!!

Yes it was the first round but ive seen more passion and joy on a sunday morning up the rec!

Is every little thing going to get picked up on. There wasn't much to celebrate last night and when I score in Sunday league i do an aggressive sort of celebration. No smiles, more like 'that should have happened, it's about time.'
That's the vibe I got from Murphy. Also the entire team went mental when Burton missed their first penalty.

Murphy's said he was disappointed. It was a show of frustration. As it probably was with all of them. Celebrating winning a penalty shootout after that much would have been embarrassing.

Did you see that guy in the crowd, he shaked his fist in an aggressive manner while shouting come on, I reckon he was looking for a fight with the players......

We can tell a lot by what the players do, I remember Danny Fox waving to the crowd once, he left 8 months later.......

I don't blame him, even though the team didn't play well yesterday, it was a shocking turn out and we all, as fans were pathetic. Standing in Block 18 i felt embarrassed to say i was a Coventry fan. Booing the players? really? I think we as fans need to look at ourselves not just the team performances

Im just worried more is going on than us as fans are aware of. Yes its a bit petty but it just didnt sit well with me. I just want more from our team! but i suppose the uncertainty around the club and with the poor performance it is difficult to be passionate.

I don’t think they celebrated because they know they had just got out of jail with a below par performance yet again and also i would be embarrassed to celebrate in the 1st round of a nothing cup against a lower league side at home, I’m sure the players are as frustrated as the fans about the dire performances, although, they can do something about it, yet haven’t, unlike us, we have to endure it week in week out. Not a lot to celebrate as a club throughout and i think that reflects on the whole team!!!

Will be there Sunday and every game this season though!!!!!

You know what the woman at the bar slammed my beer down a bit too hard.

It's clearly a sign this club is up the shitters.

Maybe collectively they are getting pissed off with our moronic fans !! That is Yeovil, Sheff Utd { Half Time}, Bury { Full time}, Crewe and now Burton that the players have been booed ridiculously by their own supporters. They are not suffering from a lack of motivation or effort, they are suffering from a lack of ability and confidence, something that our lunatic fringe are not going to help by getting on their backs.

I saw his pen on SSN last night and the kick into the crowed looked lack luster, nothing agressive about it.

I was surprised to see him just flick the ball up as it rebounded toawrds him and just kick it away rather than celebrate....but then its hard to celebrate getting let off by a pen shootout after a poor performance i guess?

agree with that, but did think it was slightly odd that perhaps for the only time in his career he scores the winner, yet didnt celebrate in some way

Its not been very cohesive at all but still only 1 defeat in 7 competitive matches plus 3 away friendly wins before that. Its time to be realistic not time for hysteria !!

True but only Wrexham was concerning, the two reverses in Scotland were against fairly useful sides and it was still early days.

shock ...... player gets pumped up by getting us through to the next round of the cup by making two good saves and scoring a good penalty...... after a largely frustrating evening where many of his team mates failed to produce much that was effective in the game.

We criticise because players dont care and when they do show it we criticise them because its too aggressive. But it is ok for the fans to be aggressive in their abject failure to support the team positively :facepalm:

Get a grip !

Jim Brown confirms that Joe Murphy is the first CCFC keeper to score in a penalty shoot-out.
