I've been really sceptical around JC's arrival here and that's the first game where I really thought he offered something and had a real influence,. Yes it was against a very lowly team but he was tenacious, mobileand another leader on the pitch.
There was one occasion where I thought he just wanted too long on the ball and possibly slowed us down a little.
He really should have scored in the first minute, other than that the Issue for me is who makes way.

He does. We would have won 20gazillion-0 today if it wasn't for Cole's mistakes.

I thought cole had a decent game today should have scored after a minute or two though when he was slid in. His crossing and corners and very good.. I think was one of his best games and I've not been a fan off him since he joined to be honest. But then again there awful so wouldn't take a lot to look decent today.

Today seems more like it from Cole...Armstrong Murphy Maddison Fleck and Vincent all helped him. They all helped each other...let's hope they can all forge a real partnership. Backed by JOB Lamieras Bigi and Rose the midfield is looking tasty.

I think that's unfair. To date Cole has largely contributed by being a distraction via the nervous apprehension his past reputation brings. So Grendel's comments (that I have seen) so far haven't been out of place.

He hadn't said anything about Cole's performance today at the point you posted this...are you just trying to wind him up?

...onwards & upwards PUSB

From what I can tell he is having a lot more of an indirect impact in terms of providing a very experienced head in what is a young group of players. One of the few who seemed able to retain possession in all parts of the pitch today and in general had a good game, but I still think he has been brought in to guide the likes of Maddison/Armstrong/Murphy etc so that they end up doing what his legs no longer allow him to do.

The 4th goal was a great example of that, chasing down a lost cause and quickly slotting past the keeper. Indeed a number of the goals came from harrying defenders in their own third of the pitch and shows that we are adopting the right attitudes. The youngsters are clearly benefitting from his experience, maybe a player/coach role would be ideal in the long run.

Cole played well , found spaces , made space with his passing , looked confident and linked up well with Maddison , based off yesterday and I haven't looked at the ratings thread he gets an 8 from me .
Meanwhile I have felt the opposite about stokes , some people giving him ludicrous ratings after very sub par performances , however yesterday he was superb and has been since playing CB tbh , a better defender than Haynes but when playing on the left still needs to work on his distribution

He had a huge ice pack on his knee when he came on at the end to applaud the fans. I thought he was decent today and I kind of feel that he reminds me of ,Gary McAllister, He always seemed decent but the players were not on his wavelength hence he was superb when he went to Liverpool as he had quality around him. I think that maybe the same applies his dead ball delivery is first class but some of his distribution goes amiss as the team is young and developing. They are not on his wavelength yer. I trust TM totally where Cole is concerned and he will help in the development of our team which will be vital if we go up

Joe Cole is definitely getting stronger and fitter. Thought he was outstanding today. Definitely reminds me of old macca.

Yesterday he didn't shirk a tackle. Kept possession very well.

His is dead ball delivery is outstanding.

i wasn't totally convinced a few weeks ago. But I'm happy he's here.

I thought he played well yesterday albeit against a poor Crewe team. Will be interesting to gauge his performance against Walsall and Burton.

Whether Crewe were atrocious or not is irrelevant, we should be smashing teams like them to pieces anyway, however the fact Cole had a good game is indeed encouraging. He'll be tested against Walsall and Burton, for sure, but I'm positive about seeing more improvement from him.

If he has really found his mojo they won't offer any challenge to him.

Bit early for recapturing the mojo, methinks, but he's improving steadily. Both of the aforementioned games will be challenging, not just for Cole, but for the whole team. Pivotal times, my brothers, pivotal times.

I think today but allegedly MV and TM are offering him a contract until June 2017. I understand wages next season based on which league we are in and number of appearances.

Really? Fair enough if that's your opinion but that's a big statement over a player who got a hat trick and Murphy who was a threat every time he got the ball and scored one of our best goals this season.

I think people are giving in to the Cole as a brand. If anyone else had the game Joe Cole had then we would all be slating him.

He certainly tried and an occasional nice touch or pass but nothing significant and it's not like this is the first time he has been average. He hasn't exactly lit it up since he has been here. Let's be fair.

Looks very unfit to me and his legs are gone. There are a lot of miles in those legs I'm afraid. Not questioning his effort or commitment.

Funny how we all see things that suit our agenda! Now I know that the likes of Murphy and Arma will get the headlines from the Crewe game but I thought Phillips was man of the match and I don't rate him. I guess it's easy to play well though when the team is. Still worried about that mistake around the corner though.

Today.

Him, Bigi and Kent all finished today.

Arma finishes on the 16th.
