For me the question is did he come here to get fit or to get match fit? There is a difference, I would have thought it was the latter of the two. If it was to get match fit, for the time he has been here he is labouring. I have my doubts he can really cut the mustard anymore but I would be happy to be proved wrong.

Hopefully a lot of humble pie and hats eaten on here over the coming months. I'm certain he'll be a massive difference once match fit and look forward to bumping this thread

Though I'm sure many City fans would love that to happen. What a great one to get proved wrong on, eh?

Exactly, I'd love him to spring into life and recapture some of his spark.

Immensely talented lad; had shit luck with injuries and whatnot, but in the event he doesn't find fitness or form, someone should definitely offer him a coaching job with us.

I'm with Rob on this one. I saw him "live", for the first time on Sat. and came to the conclusion that he has probably come to the end of the road in his career. How I want to be wrong!

If he was a dedicated professional, would he not have kept himself fit? Why does someone else have to make him fit?

If he's costing anything at all, send him back. Costs a more effective loanee in the squad and there's other positions we need to spend wages.

I thought this, but it's probably down to Villa's complete lack of attentiveness regarding his fitness regime. As far back as I can remember, since he was in his late teens, he's always had fitness issues.

Arsehole...

For some reason, you've converted me to the pro-Cole camp. If he can stay off the alco-pops, I think he'll find his spark.

Also having Cole here might help with keeping players like Armstrong. Surely Newcastle will be happy he is training with a player such as Cole.

Simply not good enough anymore for me. Yes set pieces he's good at, but doesn't offer enough for me so slow to release the ball and gets it took off him easy.
Shocked that Murphy was left out the squad a game he could have made a massive difference to Saturday I think

I would love us to keep him here... If he starts having more of an impact on games and not to the detriment of the team
