Out of 378 premier league games he played a FULL 90 minutes in 128 premier league games.

On that note, a fully fit Joe Cole is not likely to play a full 90 mins much for the rest of the season, but if he can change a game for the better, coming on as a super sub, all the better for CCFC.

Total Appearances 561 (inc. Coventry City, F.A. Cups, League Cup, Internationals, European Leagues & Cups) only 173 FULL 90 min games.
Came on in 174 games, subbed off 214 games.

I can see Cole being on a pay as you play / coaching type deal. He will be good to have around the dressing room and the training pitch, he might not be able to do the same on the pitch but if he can pass things on to Maddison and the other younger players it is only a good thing isn't it?

I just got this, Nick. And I read it when it was first posted, and perhaps ten times since.

Maddison has already missed nearly half a season already. How much of a rest do you think he needs?

Joe may not have the speed and the stamina he used to, but his set pieces are flawless, he's without doubt the best crosser of the ball we have and his experience will aid the development of younger players like Maddison and Lamerias. As for Bigi, he hasn't hit the heights he did during his first spell with City, but he still has a lot of potential. He's a very good option to have should Fleck or Vincelot be unavailable. We are shockingly short in centre-mid. Both deals are highly possible. Cole is apparently willing to take a pay cut, and i know Bigi has always called Coventry his home. Even when he played for Newcastle he came back to Cov every Sunday

Good point well made. Still would like the option to pull him out if needed.

TM is building for promotion and next season bit of a juggling act. Whatever division we are in next season there will be quiet a big re-build to do.

Would give Martin, Stokes, G Thomas & JOB 2 year deals.

Phillips and Willis (clause to extend if both stay fit enough and play enough games) 1 years

Connor Thomas release

Whilst I never really understood all the Bigi hype I certainly think he's a better player and offers more than Thomas does. Or ever has.

None of these are good enough for the Championship!!

Would need a whole new back four if we went up next season, maybe keep Ricketts, Reda and possibly Stokes for back up.

Am hoping that Lorentzon is fit soon so we can see how good he is, he may be worth keeping if he get anywhere near where he was last year.

Can we really afford a new squad of players? Talking 11/12 players min if you get rid of all those out of contract and the loans.

The likes of JOB, Stokes & Martin especially would be needed as squad players in the championship.

In a sense I agree.

Only players that would start in a Championship team are:

RCC
Reda
Ricketts
Fleck
Maddison

Stokes and Ramires are possibilities.

We would need a good 10 or so players.

Out of that lot only fleck and Maddison.

Ricketts is too old, Reda isn't good enough and we've got enough question marks over RCC.

Ramires would do well if he fancies a season long loan from Chelsea

It's got to be good thing then that we don't have lots of contracted dross as has been the case many times in the past. Let TM build a squad, just as he has for this season.

We will have one of the lowest budgets in the Championship and therefore we wouldn't resign Johnson

He's no where near good enough at that level anyway.

Given the world was supposed to fall in when he was injured out form hasn't declined at all.
