Blimey..... give the bloke a chance. He'll take many weeks to get properly match fit & may never get it back 100% anyway.

....................... and as I said on another thread last week, he hasn't IMHO, actually proven himself at L1 level.
I'm not saying he won't, eventually, but I think people are expecting too much of him, too soon

I saw Jodi walking across the hospitality area yesterday and he's still limping badly. Hopefully this is just a dead leg etc. but it didn't look like he'd be back anytime soon from a distance.

Wouldnt think he would be playing if it was still his knee.

That was my thinking. Hence why I initially thought he could just be a dead leg as he's obviously only just started to train with the ball properly. But as I said from a distance it just didn't look good. But you probably wouldn't feel 100% if you'd just done a full 45 minutes in a practice match the day before.

Coming back from a major injury he will be sore from training as his muscles will be getting back to normal, however is wouldn’t surprise me if he had a small permanent limp after anyway.

No way the club are having him play 45 mins, even if it is a training match, if he's still got problems with the injury. Must just be sore / stiff as he's not used to that level of activity.

From what I heard he didn't have any reaction after the game but he did have general stiffness in his muscles after his first proper action in 9 months

He had an acl injury which is a long one, 12 months or so. Most who have that it is said modern surgery makes the knee stronger I reckon he’s 2 months away proberly back end of October from first team action, reckon he’ll be physically fit and raring to go now will just need a bit more time for the knee to be 100%

Him and Thomas could be exciting. I think both prefer playing on right and cutting in though

Still want to see Allasani break into team too

We have a lot of options. Bring on Tuesday. Away win bring even more confidence to the squad

They could swap wings during the game, the fullbacks won't know which way to turn.

That’s good news perhaps puts him a lot nearer to first team action than I thought, we have a checkatrade game on the horizon perhaps he’ll feature in that.

Will be at least 3/4 weeks away I'd say. Some brilliant touches but was completely knackered after 25 minutes.

The Sky Blues Under-23s were in action earlier this week at the Ricoh Arena and it was a dream come true for one individual.

Almost ten months to the day, winger Jodi Jones suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, which had prevented him from playing a game of football ever since.

However, against Burnley Under-23s, the winger finally made his return from that injury, as he captained the side in the first 45 minutes and he was delighted.

“It was like a dream come true really.” Jodi said.

“Tomorrow would’ve been a full ten months since I played my last game, but it’s been so long I couldn’t wait to get out there, I couldn’t really sleep I was buzzing for today.

“I was shattered to be fair, I’ve been working hard, but you can’t really get match ft without playing matches.

“It was always a case of 45 I would’ve liked to have carried on, but the doctor and the physio told me don’t do anything silly and just pay 45.

“I think I could’ve played an extra 10 today but I was told not to, I don’t want to rush anything or do anything silly.”

Since that injury he sustained at Stevenage away, Jodi has been working hard on his rehabilitation and focusing on returning to action.

However, he admitted it was hard for him at the start to deal with a serious injury and being out for so long.

“It’s been really depressing.

“The first few months, I was really sad and didn’t know what to do, I was counting every four Fridays another month down.

“The fans kept asking me how long till I was back and it was going from seven months, to six, to five, to four and then as it got closer to two months I was thinking I’m nearly back and I’m basically back now so it’s a nice feeling.”

Now, the winger has set his sights on a return to the first time at some point in September, as he continues to train with the squad.

“I’m not too sure hopefully mid-September.

“I’m doing all the training with the boys, but the only way to get match fit is like I say by playing matches, training isn’t going to get you match fit unless you play a game in training.

“A lot of people have come back and got injured in their first game, but I didn’t and that’s the most pleasing thing for me I don’t feel any knocks.”
