Energy, desire and passion in spades, but he really does lack consistency. He comes on v Petebro and changes the game then frankly goes missing for games and slows the speed play of our younger lads. I think he tries too hard, plays overly ambitious passes, that have a woeful completion rate. If he gets back to basis's realizes he should release the ball quicker and stop trying to play like Murphy when he never had his speed, he would bring far more to the match day squad.

Maddison
Lameries
Murphy
Armstrong

For me are the best players at linked up football moves in tight spaces in advanced areas (Kent is great running at people but interplay less good).

He was one of our best players on Saturday, did some great things in tight areas too going forward.

I can't remember him giving the ball away too much? Most of the passes he plays are simple balls.

What does he try to do like murphy?

A bloke who sits behind me in block 21 thinks JOB is a god. If he misplaces a pass he claps anyway and shouts, "unlucky!"
He then uses words like class, brilliant, fantastic, wow, to describe his every touch.

We were seeing two different players, look at the amount of time this season he has given the ball away vs mak something happen its not great. I agree tho he is neat and tidy and should be this more. He is like Murphy in the sense he holds onto the ball too long and I am convinced watching him he thinks he is quicker than he is.

Sorry, gives plenty of effort but little end product, about at his level, if able I'd replace him

I can think of some decent assists he has got. He's no world beater, but I'd have him over Kent every day.

This thread comes as a surprise, really, as JOB has had nothing but an unspoken respect for his energetic and grafting performances.

To think we could get better, at this level, is a tad odd. :thinking about:

I like him and think he is important to our side. He is the sort of player you need in your team. He has some skill about him, scores a few goals, never stops running and battling and his work rate is exceptional.

He makes intelligent runs too. Yes, he can be a bit over exhubarant and has been a bit of a headless chicken in the past, but he seems a lot more structured under Tony Mowbray.

I think he's a key first team squad player.

Amazing, a few poor results and all of a sudden half the team isn't good enough

He is a good player and has got quite a few assists this season.

If anyone should be moaned at, it is Kent, absolutely no end product.

I think you should go back and look at some of his assists this season, they're all quality inch perfect through balls. I liked him last season, but this season I have been impressed with his quality in the ball. In fact my uncle came along to his first game in about 3 years and he was raving about JOB at half time. It's not just about his work rate, he also importantly sets the tempo for pressing and keeps us on the front foot when we attack.

A couple of bad results and suddenly everyone is shite. Really don't get this. We need all of that squad and our bench sometimes is very weak. Personally like job, although he is limited but perfectly ok at this level.

Rueben Italia, more ability in his little tow than JOB has ever had.

Then why hasn't TM dropped him? Personally, the only wastes of space we have are Kent, Burge and MAF, imo.

I think some people are finding too much to be critical of; I know I've stuck the boot in on TM's recent tactical changes, but suggesting JOB should be dropped is a tad extreme.

If you like huffing and puffing and waving your arms about then that's cool.

Different players altogether.

Lameiras in, yes, but not for JOB.

I can think of that little chip and the reverse pass, great passes.

I'd play lameries but not instead of job

Rueben on one wing and Murphy on the other, sorted.

JOB is good back up and was the kind of player we used to get and now we can do better.

And they are both wide players mate, it's just on is more skill full and the other huffs and puffs and shouts at platers when he loses the ball. He's very Pressley

Yup.

Looks like we need to get shot of Cole, RCC, JOB, Fortune, Phillips, Haynes, Burge and Kent.

and that's just for starters!!

JO'B seems to set the tempo for us, but he's only effective for 60 minutes. Him and the team died massively after 60 minutes on Saturday.

depends what you want in your players really. for me i like passion, effort and commitment, JOB has all these plus drive, energy, aggression and a fair amount of skill. if you can use all this to create assists and the odd goal here and there then i can forgive him for some of his failings. one of the first names on the teamsheet for me

No-one this season in the three as a unit has come remotely close to JOB, Lameiras and Maddison at Millwall away.
They would be my 3 midfielders and would consider dropping Armstrong tbh for either Murphy or Tudguy up top
would probably give Armstrong another start though - Murphy and Tudguy on the bench!
