He is arguing that SP was right to choose JOB over Baker.
Which happened when we're in league one.
Their contrasting seasons that season.
Puts an instant end to the debate TBF.
However he won't give up.
He will keep trying

He was right - Baker was crap when he signed for us and his attitude in the Championship was a disaster and unlike JOB wouldn't even get in the squad in this team

Well and on the career stats.
And on whether JOB was a better choice than Baker by SP.

But apart from that he has been bang in the money in this debate.

I mean MK Dons form has improved since his departure - big surprise - frankly arguing over a players merits with someone who mocked me for saying Chris Hussey was tripe is rather a forlorn task

Pummelling? From who? You are clueless and have weird fixations about players who are shit;

Baker at this level was a good margin better than Job over the last two years.

Neither are really good enough for championship.

The loan move is the right one by the sounds. Not sure why he moved back to Barnsley? Doesn't sound as committed as his frantic running looks.

I don't get that, he moved back to Barnsley knowing he works in Coventry and is unhappy with the commute?

Subject change again

You said career stats show JOB is better than Baker
They don't
You said SP was right to choose JOB over Baker.
He wasn't Baker had an amazing season and got promoted.
He is now very valued in the division above JOB moved to Scunthorpe on loan. Struggling to get games in our team.
I like JOB but he is not a better player than Baker.

“I pick a team to try to win a match and if Jim is not prepared to be part of the group and has to sit on the bench sometimes, what should I do? If he comes to me and says he wants to move on loan, what are my options?

“For me, as a coach, I need a team that is 100 per cent with us all the time. The group has to be strong and positive and his personality isn’t that sort of lad where he accepts not playing without grumbling or being unhappy.”

“I don’t mind unhappy players as long as they are professional on the training ground and work hard and get on with it. You are allowed to be disappointed if you are not picked but he’s not the only one who has to sit on the bench.
“Gael Bigirimana can’t even get in the 18 at the minute, never mind sit on the bench, and yet he gets on with it and trains hard and works hard.

He was getting unhappy and you have to understand Jim’s personality as well. It’s a strong personality and if he’s not playing and unhappy it can have repercussions

Basically O'Brien was acting like a stroppy teenager so Mowbray shipped him out. I guess O'Brien is happier losing every week as long as he plays, surprised his mate Pressley wasn't in for him to bring him to Fleetwood.

His quotes when he realised the public were against him were reminiscent of Pressley actually.

I expected a lot better from him.

Before Christmas many were staying JOB should be the first name on the team sheet, but now I'm hearing 'we don't need him' and 'in Mowbray we trust'.

The biggest downfall with Mowbray (there isn't many I know, and he's the best manager we've had for as long as I can remember) is his team selection and substitutions. He has favourites such as MAF, Murphy and then his not so favourites JOB, Lameiras.

In my opinion JOB has been unfairly frozen out of the team, especially in the last few months and now has decided he wants to move on. I can't really blame him, because despite what's being said in the press now the door's closed, he's one of our most committed players when he puts the shirt on.

It's a perfect scenario for Mowbray because now not only does he not have to play him, but he isn't under pressure from fans when he doesn't either. Sounds a very blunt thing to say though, I know.

How has he be frozen out? He's made 26 league appearances out of a possible 31, that is only 5 matches where hasn't been involved, his last start was a couple of weeks ago against Southend.

And fortunately Mowbray seems to have wised up now to how shit Fortune is.

I see where you're coming from but I don't think the comparison in any way stacks up. We haven't had anything from the dressing room to suggest that TM is disliked and disrespected, unlike the case with SP.

TM was in a damned if you do (explain the decision) and damned if you don't. Certainly, if he hadn't fully explained there would have been a quite a bit of dissent among, and continuing questioning from, the fans. Hands were tied, as I see it.

Sorry - don't agree. Think it's a mistake. He is pretty flexible and no one knows if he's happy or not.

At also seems odd that people are critical of his lack of discipline yet he was a pivotal player when we were at our performance peak. It's really hard to believe Hunt is going to be a better fit from what we have seen of him.

Mistake in my view that has no benefit at all. We'd have been better not signing Hunt and not wasting time and I assume money on Bigiamara.

So, he was unhappy. And like has been said, he wanted to play every week and TM said he can't guarantee that and sees him as a squad player.

Yep. Think JOB may well have gone to TM saying he wants first team football and TM has said he can't guarantee that.

Is JOB better than Maddison, Cole or Murphy?

Yes he can do a job sometimes, but he surely can't expect to be an automatic start.

Hopefully Hunt gets his arse in gear, see him as JOB with a bit more guile

Why would he lie?

It all makes perfect sense. JOB wants to play every week, TM couldn't guarantee that, JOB lives in Barnsley.

Can't see there is any conspiracy theory here and it is what it is.

TM has also said he would have picked JOb for some games. It just seems clear that JOB wants to be playing every single game and probably expects to be playing every game.

At one point here most of us would have agreed that he was undroppable.

I'd agree in the main.

When it comes to O'Brien and Lameiras in particular however, Mowbray's seemed ready to drop them after they've had a good game, which seems slightly baffling and has arguably set Lameiras back in particular. By all means rotate the squad, but not for the sake of it.
