Quite shocked to be honest. Was always under the impression that anything new for JLR would go abroad. Engineering was always staying in the UK as far as I was aware but certainly didn't see any plans for Whitley popping up.

Great news, used to work there but jumped when the industry died a death. With the engine plant being located at Wolverhampton it's starting to look more positive from an automotive element for the Midlands again

Fabulous news all round for Coventry. Apparently JLR have had a nightmare with quality issues in China and I guess that's why they can't risk investment on that scale outside of the UK. Good to see the rail stop at the Ricoh taking shape as well, that will be mighty handy for many of us !!
