Tread carefully my fellow sky blues, this could be a trap. Anyone remember 'the cricketers' pub, Sheffield, circa 1993/94?

Pulled up on Bramall lane in a mini bus about midday. Landlord immediately invited us in. About 1ish pub started to fill with dodgy looking home 'supporters'. Altho I didn't witness it, a few lads swear the gaffer was indicating to them that Cov fans were in the pub and even pointing out where we were. Even more Sheffield neanderthals filed in and it was pretty obvious what would happen.
A few lads who were with us that who had never previously been involved in any footie fisticuffs were forced to defend themselves as we (heavily outnumbered) were attacked. Glasses, ashtrays, tables the lot.
When members of the most tainted constabulary in this country arrived on the scene, the jovial landlord was on hand to inform that it was Coventry supporters who'd started it and was even pointing out individuals and supplying detailed info as to what they'd done.
I hope Jim turns out to be genuine, but cautionary tales and all that.
