Problem under Thorn, he wanted to play like 'Barcelona', but you could tell the 'Crazy Gang' days were well entrenched in his thinking. Playing the diamond with a good-for-nothing lump and hoofing it to him is a sick joke!

The diamond isn't a bad formation, but AT gave it a bad name!

Don't get me wrong, MR has done well. But you have to give AT his share of credit too. We wouldn't be doing as well as were are without him. You have no choice but to accept this.

Get off your high horse, and stop insulting a man who was a great servant to our club. Your pathetic attitude is disgusting.

Both did good jobs for CCFC under very different circumstances. AT did a better job IMO, given the lack of support and squad that he had. Would have AT back over Black.

Better than thee Eric Black!? You must be high!? He rescued our season and nearly got us into the playoffs! Then replaced by another clueless idiot, Peter Reid.

Still were down to two now.

And your the idiot who said 'no manager on this planet could get this squad promoted.'

Black was overrated by City fans. Did a good job, to be fair, but no messiah.

AT rescued our season in 2011, don't forget that. Then SISU sold the shop from under him and left him high and dry.

A team with a small squad and small resources still has a chance if well managed. Everton in the top flight, Blackpool in the Champs, and Stevenage in our own league are all good examples. Despite its paucity we had players good enough to make a proper fist of things last season; Bigi was hopelessly managed and the awful Clingan as captain to boot.

You have a right to your opinion CJ but as I've said a lot of times, Thorn's legacy was relegation, incompetence, and laziness. SISU are to blame only in his appointment and failure to dismiss him earlier. It is he we have to thank for our current league status.

Disagree mate...we had such a disadvantage in terms of the squad AT had available last season, relegation was a foregone conclusion from the off. I was amazed we stayed in the hunt as long as we did.

I repeat-30 points thrown away from in front. That is not the sign of a team with no chance of survival.

I was surprised we were not relegated a lot quickly.

The signings of Norwood and Nimely delayed inevitable

Nimely added one solitary goal. Thorn's dismissal early doors followed by a competent successor would have prevented 'the inevitable'.

Maybe who knows.

Personally I think there were to many realistic options around at that point who could have turned that around.

Nimely scored that goal, won three penalties and got 4-5 assists.

Which was better than what a lot of the rest if our squad was offering and IMO delayed the inevitable

He was signed to score goals-he didn't. You and CJ are in a minority of 2 here and thank God you aren't on the board.

Writing was on the wall as soon as king went. I've been going for 30 years now and last seasons uninvested squad was the worst. Thorn was clueless but I predicted before the leicester opening game we were doomed having been to pre-season. Sadly I was proved right. This season I'm optimistic and despite being gutted in may I think it could prove to have been a blessing.

However fortunately you and Grendal are part of a minority that are personally abusive about thorn calling him fat and the likes.....

I don't 'abuse' Thorn-but I am extremely scornful of what his uncontrolled mismanagement did last season and throughout the summer.

More like Pompey's 10 point deduction, we, and Donny, would've got relegated about a month before we did.

Nimely is being overrated here, he scored 1 goal, you can say all about this flair bollocks but at the end of the day, he scored 1 goal in half a season, that's the fact. Cody scored 1 goal less than the 2 of them in less than half half the games.

Cody, 23 appearances, 4 goals, 0.173... Goals:game ratio
Platt + Nimely, 50 appearances, 5 goals, 0.1 goals:game ratio. Nimely had a worse goals:game ratio than Platt! Nimely (1 in 17), 0.058... goals:game to Platts' (4 in 33) 0.121... goals:game ratio. Nimely definitely staved off relegation with his goalscoring...

What idiot wouldn't start Cody with one of these?

I think he managed to achieve that all by himself.

In fact that is about the only thing he did achieve in his disastrous 18 months.

So his output was fairly minimal!

He won 2 pens, so we'll give that, 3 assists in half a season...

Nimley assisted Norwood vs Pompey and Sheff vs Middlesbrough, these are just what I remembered instantly without any research or analysis. Nimley was a decent player, not great an very raw, but he clearly had ability ob the ball. Now he had just signed on loan for a play off chasing Championship club so obviously they think he must be decent also. Juke only scored 1 goal in open play in about his first 6 months with us an he did alright for us

This is bizarre as I remover him creating three assists.

Yet the main stat site does say 1
