How come everything is now based on Jimmy Hill? Everything about Ryton is ruining his legacy? There are people photoshopping him onto images etc, saying how he would be turning in his grave etc.

I really hope it isn't the case but it just seems it really is being played on which if so, is out of order.

I have been trying my hardest to push this - https://www.tifosy.com/en/campaigns/do-your-bit-for-the-jimmy-hill-legacy-fund - for weeks and persuading people personally to donate and nobody has really given a shit. As can be seen by the fact only 26 people have actually bought anything.

(I do know that some people on here have made some great donations though ) Fair play to the member who bought the signed shirt!

So my point is, get donating here - https://www.tifosy.com/en/campaigns/do-your-bit-for-the-jimmy-hill-legacy-fund - If you aren't in the position to donate which not everybody is, pass it on to friends as well.

Following on from it, it is nothing to do with the politics. It is his legacy fund to do the following:
  • Provide activities for children and adults with disabilities (through activities run by SBitC)
  • Provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people in Coventry and Warwickshire (delivered by SBitC)
  • Support and increase the activities on match days in the Sky Blues Family Zone (run by volunteers)
  • Provide small grant awards to local voluntary and community organisations
I must have a point, because LAST actually liked it

Sorry Nick hadn't seen this and would like to contribute £100 and get my lad
The signed kit, but It says items can only be picked up during working hours.
As I live a long way out of town this isn't possible, do you know of another way
Around it. Cheers

I think you can collect on match day too if that would work?

3 likes from people who disagree with everything I say, we could be onto a common ground here

Another person who I don't always agree with but do strongly on this.

Fair play and hope they love it, when is it?

I'm not taking the piss when I say about common ground, maybe a protest or action could be related or this sort of thing?

If it fails, it's helped a great cause

Would that be in tesco, I'll contact the club on Monday and sort it out, he's 15 now
So more into girls and music than kits, but it's something for him to keep.

Not sure when it is, think the donations has time limit on it and finishes sometime in november. Last time i checked was still the only contributor in that section so it might end up 1 v 1 with maybe me in goal for the youngest!

I did think about sneaking in, putting in a two footed tackle, then scoring a goal and giving a shhhh to the away fans with me my top off.

I'd go for the oldest one, the youngest is a terror!

Fair play

Don't need to say sorry to me, I'm just trying to give it a nudge!

Thanks for the reminder Nick, fully intended to get involved straight away but must confess it slipped my mind. I have contributed now.

Maybe worth pinning this topic? I know you have a separate SBitC section but the more viewers the better.

Disappointed to see only 32 people have contributed with just 18 days left.

A genuine initiative, with a genuinely good purpose & something in it for the contributors too... What's not to like?

Even if you don't want one of the things on offer just chuck a few quid in, they even email you a certificate!

Yep it's bad the actual number of donations

It's been forgotten about in all of the politics and it's a shame with how much jh's name has been dropped in things too.

not sure if it helps raise funds (or hinders) but.........just had a "personal" email from David Busst, thanking me for the donation and offering me 2 free tickets and an opportunity to have the football presented to me by the Jimmy Hill statue.

A very nice touch.

What a shame only £1000 has been raised by fans donating on this so far (£4700 was raised by SBITC)

Worth putting this up here ahead of tomorrow. It's good to see... http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/jimmy-hill-remembered-coventry-city-14122016-3467761.aspx

If you're not at the game, you can also donate online

Have noticed the campaign has now ended, has anyone heard anything from them at all with regards to the rewards that were on offer?

I paid for the boys to play at half time during a game and not heard anything. Just wondered if anyone else had?
