Sad news.

Former England and Tottenham striker Jimmy Greaves is in intensive care after suffering a severe stroke on Sunday.

My favourite ever player and had the privilege of meeting him a few years back. Didn't know about this till I noticed the thread. I follow him on twitter so I'll send his family a message.

Possibly Englands best striker ever, 44 goals in 57 starts is world class.

Does anyone remember Saint and Greavsie? Man, how we'd love to see a reunion of the pair for one more time.

I don't think there is any doubt about it. One of those players who you just knew would make something happen every time he got the ball anywhere near the goal. Such a shame he never got to play in the 1966 World Cup final.

"I should be dead, but I'm here and I'm fighting fit. Now I want to live until I am at least 90."

Fantastic news from Sir Jimmy, but exactly the same words I totally dread hearing coming from the mouth of my missus.

Just made me spit some of my drink out. I love the way you say these things about your Mrs Otis, very funny.
