I thought that this was a wonderful tribute to the man, with it being passed round over peoples heads. It just reached me when it was snatched from my hand (and other peoples) by some over-officious stewards.
No need for it and created needless confrontations. I don't know if it's been asked already, but why this heavy handedness?
Didn't see the incident but read last week that the club applied for permission to take the Jimmy flag and the conditions were that the Wembley stewards run it. I.e. They put it out at one end and take it away at the other. Maybe just a misunderstanding?
Strange where I was some pollock spent second half in gangway waiving a flag blocking everyone's view stewards said they had no power to move him- Wembley orders
The stewards who were collecting it rushed up right past us, thought there was some kind of trouble at first but it was just that the banner made it round quicker than they did.
