Signing from Mickleover.

Development squad, no doubt. We love Mickleover, don’t we!

Nope but son of former Burton Albion midfielder, John McGrath, who is also the current manager of Mickleover.

Yup. We should thank God for the gift of bringing them into our lives. Maybe even have a Mickle mass.

We scouted this lad a few times last season and were linked with him in January. Looks to be a good prospect

I wonder how much input MR has on youth signings, does he chip in as part of a team or are the youth coaches put in place with their specialities, given a budget to spend and get on with it.

Looks like he’s been sniffing whipped cream canisters in Memorial Park, but maybe I’m getting old

That’s three young left backs at the club now and another expected. Somethings got to give even if it’s Newton out on loan I reckon.

His dad was a cracking player for Burton who won the Conference after having been told he'd never kick a ball again, determined chap:
'They brought a priest in to give me the last rites, that's how bad it was'

His son gets a mention in there, they became the first father and son to play in the same FA Cup game-and it was against Sphinx!

A different son presumably. How old would Jay have been in the Russell Slate Era? I get confused after the Devonian and the Jurassic ...

I'd be amazed if hilssner is brought in for development squad - he's 25.

Sounds like this lad is more CB who can play LB.

Who's the one expected? Or is it assumed we'll be looking for more of a first choice?

Purely because they'd never heard of him. There was the same ignorance when dabo and Marosi signed

Nah I've never heard of anyone we sign anymore (just their dads, it seems!), with him it was more the concern at the German 3rd tier standard, which I'd put at nearer to L2 than L1. Then you add the Kastaneer factor...as Grendel said, our overseas signings are very hit and miss.
