Seems to be the unsung hero of Lampard’s push to the play offs.
Always liked him as a player. Best first touch of any Cov player I remember watching, and I like the way he battled to get his shirt back last season, and some of his performances in that run-in were outstanding. The link up play at home on the left with Rudoni, Grimes, Wright etc. Scintillating at times.

I wonder if he can be looked at in more advanced roles when needed. AMC / AML etc. As cover mind you, alongside him pushing for the LB role next season.
Presuming the Spanish lad will be the first choice LB.

Dasilva has quick feet and is a fine passer and has enough pace to play there (even if he isn’t a fast LWB). Would like to keep him involved, and seems like a great guy too.

Dasilva Redemption

Another strong game from the little man today, and what a turnaround in form at the right time. Credit to him and the coaches, clearly a lot of hard work has gone in and it’s paying off. Clear first choice starter and deservedly so.

Ok maybe LCM.. I mean this in emergency situations. He'd do a better job than Bidwell there!

think that was put to bed when they saw him at CB.
JWE definitely, which was one of MR's more bizarre decisions

Was there hype or just someone on here suggesting it, who then got ridiculed?

I just seem to remember on here it seeming to be an ongoing debate for a long time. Then Dabo went off the boil badly.

Yes he had some good games at the end of the season. But he should have been doing that all along. They were solid performances not outstanding (nothing wrong with that).

Bur earlier in this season and last he has been very poor.

I was really pleased when we signed him. Then really disappointed. He hasn't won me over because of 5 or 6 games.

But next season is a blank canvas, as it is for all the players.

Nail on the head. He had a good 2 months of this season, but that's 2 months out of 2 years. Like you, that's not enough to win me over.

We need better than him and Bidwell if we are going to progress.

He’s still very poor defensively. Had a good couple of games going forward but we need more defenders who can defend.

It wasn't an ongoing debate at all - one dope suggested it on here & immediately got shot down in flames (and rightly so)

Fair enough. It might just have been quoted ironically then after. I do seem to remember it popping up in a few threads but must've been tongue in cheek

The annoyance at Dasilva playing alright really amuses me. For that alone I hope he stays.

Unsung hero??? Bit farfetched
He didn’t make a huge fuck up like he normally would doesn’t make him an unsung hero, he did a reasonable job, not world beating

Exactly. I’d go for something more like “did what he is supposed to do for a tenth of the season”.

Let’s not forget he cost us at Luton and a goal at Hull due to inexplicable defending, beaten by balls over the top yet again.

On the whole, he has improved under Lampard but still isn’t the answer if we want to continue pushing at the top end.

Well we may have signed Brau to provide an alternative or even as a replacement but we're not going to know for sure till pre season gets well under way.
