Ignore him, I have done for months it makes this place better.

He always parrots 'it's not true' 'it's made up for clout' etc, yet is nowhere to be seen when I get the lineup right every week and other things that turn out to be correct.

He just cant stand me, so has to go against everything said whilst not offering anything if substance on why he says it

I doubt the players give 2 hoots about Doug.

He pays them on time and in full, and he’s made money available to Austin and Robins to improve the team. Whether they have done that well or not isn’t really something that players would blame the owner for.

He’s also invested in the training facilities and the quality of the CBS pitch. These things matter to players.

Yeh tbh I think we certainly look to have shown more ambition than most Championship clubs recently, whether it's entirely worked yet is another thing.
A couple might still think they are above The Championship altogether, good luck to them as long as we get decent money.

I think Lati is a lot more composed, again there is a reason Lati is targeted for pressure (because he’s a lot more comfortable) you need to force an error out of him whereas Thomas every game has an unforced error or two in him, I’d much rather him not have to think and lump it (but with Haji and Simms to knock it on or down)

He’s pressured because of the complete opposite.

If I was wright I would want out, our recruitment has been shocking and is nowhere near matching a players ambition of playing in the premier league. Doug the fraud needs to spend some of his own money like he promised us all the ‘dream big aim high’

So you think just throw a load of money we haven't got at it is the solution? Where does it stop ? How much do you want him to put in ? Everything he puts in becomes an additional debt of the club.

You can’t survive let alone compete in this league running a profit. Anyone who bought a club thinking otherwise is an idiot.

Hindsight and all but should have sold Vik and put the cash to new contracts for Hamer and O’Hare and then put a hard limit on new signings of £2-3M IMO.

I wanted to take the risk even if Hamer wouldn't sign a contract. Could have had one solid shot at promotion, Hamer feeding balls through for Simms and Wright. We'd have comfortably made the play offs at the bare minimum.

I could be wrong so please correct me but didn’t Luton have a profit of a million the year they went up?

He also has a very valid view of keeping us as a self sustainable club without running up huge debts.

Maybe. Though they’re a bit of a special case and seem to be on their way down again.

We won’t ever be self sustainable until we leave this division one way or another.

I’m not saying run up huge debts, I’m saying he was always going to have to put money in as an owner at this level.

On this last accounts show he put in six million when he took us over in January 2023. Without the accounts for 2023/24 it’s hard to say he’s put in no money whether that is day to day operations, stadium and training ground upgrades or player funds

71st percentile for progressive carries vs Champ CBs is close to good, although maybe slightly warped by his games at RB where he would have more scope to carry the ball. Eye test and metrics show he's a below average CB in this league. Seems like a nice guy but for 1 million plus, he should be sold.

That progressive carries stat is useless for centrebacks.

I think he’s made some big mistakes that are going to be costly to fix. There’s no way around that and shutting up shop cos he’s blown all the money is only going to harm the club.

Wanting him to spend a couple million on a few players won’t put us in administration, stop being deluded it’s called ‘ambition’ something he clearly doesn’t have unless we’ve sold one of our best players

Conversely he's also invested in areas of the club. Again you're putting words in my mouth. Is selling and reinvesting dead in the water as an option all of a sudden ?

No I think we’re going to have to. I think from the sounds of it this squad is a bust and anyone half decent wants out. But if that wasn’t the case I’d expect him to be willing and able to drop a couple of million on a signing if we need it.

To be fair we’ve spent 45 Million in the last two windows. It’s not about the amount we are spending but how we are spending

I think he actually believed Lampard was an elite coach who would get more out of these players. It’s a stupid belief but he’s stupid so…

In principle, I agree, but I'm doubtful Hamer would have signed the contract offer with PL football being offered.

Haha I wasn’t trying to start a Lampard convo up I promise. But I do think he believed he wouldn’t have to rebuild the whole squad when he sacked Robins.

Not sure on that.

I’m sure it’s an instruction but the amount of times both our centre half’s are on half way and have metres in front of them to step into but instead decide on playing the easy pass out wide.
