Damn. Didn’t think we’d be out of cash already. Assumed there was still something in the pot from summer. And it’s not like Robins got paid up, we got compo.

If King can get some money for Lati it’s a masterstroke

Okay I’m normally generous but wtf. Surely we still have some money knocking around the club with Palmers departure.

Any ideas of targets?

Makes sense …. We can’t keep adding centre half’s and left backs and CM’s …some need to leave …..

In centre mid we have Sheaf, Eccles, Torp, Rudi, Allen, Andrews, again we need a different type of CM so at least 2 need to move on ….

We have 5 forwards …. Simms, Wright, Bassette, BTA, and Tavares …. We only play with one ( 2 if you play them out of position on the wing )

The biggest issue I have with this approach is sequencing …. Letting players leave before you’re certain of bringing in new signings is clearly a risk !

Team needs strong characters, Lati seems to me to have that.

It's not always about super talent. You need strong team players to drive the really talented ones. If Lati goes, I'd be very worried.

Any of the itk’s got any insight into what’s going on behind the scenes?

Are we broke or have Doug and frank just accepted the squad is whack and it needs ripping up and starting again?

Doug King! What a brilliant and ambitious owner he is after taking all of our money, once the money was spent from vik and Hamer it’s shown his true colours

I cba to do the maths but where do people think we’ve got excess money from? Spent a lot on players, training ground, pitch and our wage bill has increased massively. Not sure why people are surprised.

What a season we are having.

If rumours are true, we’re losing one of the best RB’s in the league (and our only one!), our best player (even if off form) and Captain, and one of the only leaders we have in squad.

Good to see we’re continuing to move forward as a club.

I would have thought we’d still have the palmer funds and wages.

Although thinking on it a large cost would of been Frank and his staff

I get that but if we got the million as rumored and his wages. Surely that’s enough for one or two reinforcements?

Guys this is the sustainable model.

You trade players to improve the quality of the total squad over time…. It’s not a stockpiling strategy we are pursuing.

Yeah I guess so, just the concern is we have to get players in and then sell or we end up like we did in the summer with no CM

There should be plenty of room in the budget after we got Palmer's 80k per week off the wage bill

Hardly saying it’s stockpiling, it’s reasonable to keep your best players when your already struggling and then add to that squad, like everyone around us is doing

becaause we know we need to improve and have greater strength in depth particularly in midfield, this is backed up by actual itks and not gimoc

You really think it won’t be absorbed into running costs of the club.

this isn’t fifa where it just sits in a transfer budget until used

A million or so for Palmer a few months ago would have gone already. King hasn’t had to spend his own money yet but to be fair to him, he’s stuck every bit of the Gyok and Hamer money back in…that’s now gone.

And people wonder why he’s allowing loans again?

I guess not, but the club have mostly used the transfer funds for the playing squad since Doug has come in, with the day to day being covered by Doug.

it would only be stockpiling if we kept the players after the summer and kept adding

we know and have identified weaknesses and we will improve those areas regardless of who leaves

also there's money in the budget anyway, we targeted a few pretty expensive midfield options in the summer and that budget is unspent
