Absolute joke, selling probably our best player and we’re already weak and struggling, I can’t believe what is happening to our club it’s an absolute shambles from top to bottom. All the goodness is slowly fading, cheers Doug king you absolute clown

Devils advocate Dom, every player has a price. Doug has so far got good fees for players and for our model to attract young players with the top team dream, they have to have a few examples of said dream.

If Gimocs right and he’s unsettled and Jimmy right we’ve already started talking to RB? I don’t see the issue

Currently, recruitment don't have a good track record of recruitment!
I'd worry about this if it were to happen.

Surely as we have no other right back then it wouldn't be that we sell him and don't bring in any replacement? I agree it would be mental to do that and have Lati and Eccles doing rock paper scissors to play there all season.

I think business will be done, I thought a month ago that changes would be limited but I now think we might do a fair bit. Mind you the club is very careful to keep all it's dealings under the radar and there is so much speculation about it's virtually impossible to make an informed judgement.

Depends who the RB is, what type of transfer it is too.
Not being a student of the position, are there any better RBs in the Championship!??

If we can sell him and obviously replace him and get a couple more in then I think it would be ideal.

Yeah, I have seen in a few games how good he "can be" but if he doesn't want to be here and is clearly not anywhere near the "can be" then why not?
if he doesnt want to be here, thats different from us choosing to sell him cause hes out of form. I dont trust that we can use what 2m? of the £8-10m we'd get for MVE to buy a replacement that will be better than what he currently is, and spread that money across other areas of the team.

We’re selling one of our best players when we’re already struggling. An ambitious owner would keep our best players and add to the team, this clown will do anything to avoid putting his hand in his pocket. The fact we’ll make a ‘profit’ on him will be enough to win certain fans over

Depends on what we’re looking at. Hypothetically if you asked me to solve it tomorrow without any data. Max Aarons on loan could fix until the Summer and we can have a deep dive?

FFP doesnt allow for 'ambitious' owners as you put it. Even if he wanted to he cant just throw money at players

Every player has a price we are in the championship. I don’t want to go bust by stupid spending and end up like Derby.

If it’s below 8 Million. I’ll agree it’s stupid but our model has always been this even before, without Gyok going for instance we wouldn’t have Milan

Very unlikely in January. Of course if we got a good offer then its possible for any player.

Is he obtainable?
Main question around that in my post was would we be selling the best right back in the division - half way though the season no less.

Taking off ffp mate, he’s just used money from player sales and is yet to spend any of his own! Now Milan will be used to ‘fund’ the new signings. Be nice for a change to keep our best players around and add to the already weak squad

Probably not, but he's the only player right now who we could get any decent money for.

Is he the best right back though at the moment. High potential but as I’ve said there’s no point keeping him here if he’s homesick and doesn’t want to be here anymore?

And based on the few games he’s played, think we could make a play for him. Josh Key would be another shout

MVE also knows hes the only RB we have, hes undropable (not by form but by squad size) we'd need a rival to kick him into gear. we need loans, plenty of them in Jan

How though without money to fund it? Of course sales are used to fund new signings else what other income stream would?

He’s already done loans during his time here and according to the ITKs a Liverpool lad was coming in?

If he’s ambitious as he likes to say he is why not put some of his own money in

Did you purposely ignore the FFP explanation or? He cant just put his own money in. Clubs can only spend what it generates itself not through some wealthy sugar daddy. Its the reason all parachute teams often go straight back up

i'd be surprised if mve goes in a january window and it isn't for a fee that we can't turn down

we also aren't going to sell without a replacement

remember gimoc's source is the normal whatsapp message people share, only difference is he treat them as gospel

Without being an idiot, looking at the 2023 accounts, a £6 million loan was paid into the club from the owner as interest free.

Without seeing the 2024 accounts we have no idea how much he put in.

I know but based on how much we paid for him, his potential and length of contract, it’s what we should be aiming for.

He just talks a good game and then has fuck all to show for it, wasting over 30 million pounds of money from selling 2 of our best every players

Clubs are allowed to make losses, if your explanation of the rules was true the entire EFL would be under sanctions

Yeah but you can’t argue he’s not investing in the squad.

Lessons should be learnt over what the money has been spent on but the fact the club keeps and uses 100% of sale fees to sign new players is a huge improvement and gives us the best chance to progress as long as we keep developing

Of course we will sell our best players, almost every club does. The key to progress is to sell well, invest well, and improve the quality of the total squad over time.

If selling MVE gets us a new right back and a Centre half better than we have now then it’s progress. If the fee is big enough to do more than that then it’s a no brainer.

Bournemouth sold Solanke in the summer…. It’s not holding them back, Forest sold Johnson the summer before.
