The thing King has brought to the club whether you've decided you like him or not is genuine excitement for transfer windows. I think its been forgotten quickly but they there were always absolute death with SISU in charge of things.
We spend now and its pretty entertaining. Players also tend to leave on our terms rather than theirs now too.

I fully expect us to be bidding 8/9/10m on more players from the likes of Ajax, Red Star , Benfica etc.

Probably going to land absolutely none of them but I do enjoy the interesting rumours.

It's slightly more interesting than being linked with mediocre loan player A,B and C while star player is linked with move away to club we have no business selling our best players to.

Lampard when he realises that Austin and King won’t let him have any say in any of our new signings and most of them are coming from Barnsley.

Morgan Whittaker is a name I’ve heard, maybe not for this transfer window, and depending on what happens with others in the squad as we’d have to spend some money on him

FL familiar, and he fits the model as young, versatile and potential to improve even further

Was one we looked at before in the 22/23 summer window. Would be a really good signing but couldn’t see it this window

If Simms was to leave then maybe, although I think he’s also a potential 10 rather than a CF

Wouldn’t suit us a ST, would personally put him on the right wing.

Think Cannon would be a great number 9 if we were looking for one

There’s zero chance he’d sign for us.

Cannon would be class but we are so top heavy in our forwards

Transfer windows became interesting only after we sold the crown jewels, and to be honest our record of spending big money is patchy at best.

I don't expect us to be spending big again any time soon, I think it's back to punting on younger players and even loans again.
(Not that that's such a bad thing)

But I'd be suprised if we are in a position to piss £3m+ on the likes of Kitching, Wright, Simms and EMC anytime soon.

Yes we are already 14 hours into the transfer window. Way too slow

Just curious. Can’t remember when we last had a player ready to go for the start of the window.

I think part of the answer is because deals may be contingent on other deals, ‘ins’ subject to ‘outs’

and also as if, say, we are looking at a Chelsea loan and they think they might get a permanent deal somewhere else they will likely hold out a few weeks first

I believe we have already registered interest in a couple of players, and I also thought we do actually have one ready to go, maybe announced after this round of games or the weekend

We do seem to drag things on. Kitching and EMC last season spring to mind. Hope Doug has learned his lesson and we don’t do a stupid deadline day deal like those again.

Do hope we get someone in first half of the month.

Read somewhere we’re going to have some experience and know how incoming. We really need it. Especially in the middle of the park.

Midfield needs a revamp, Cash in on Sheaf. Need cover at fullback and a winger. Team are a bunch of soft twats need to toughen up and show some fight and desire

Don't care if the new signing can't kick a ball at this point, just someone to sort out, drag, pull and lead the team through the matches.

We should focus on moving on Kitching, Dasilva, Tavares and Allen.

Bring in 2 loan signings

Summer window, try and offload Binks and Thomas and then go out and buy 2 quality centre backs.

If this lot end up in a dog fight with some relegation six pointers come the end of the season... God help us.
