They did have interest in him before. Would make sense as allows them to get a body in as well as money which might appeal to them more considering there restrictions atm.

Surprising we are looking at another young CB tho, while he looks to have a lot of potential you'd have to think we have plenty and need some experience in that role. Unless Kitching is also making way for someone.

There was almost a point in pre season when a mutual termination was going to be agreed, so he could go there as a free agent. Then Haji got injured.

Doesn't shock me at all, just lend more credence to the idea, we would give him away with the deal. Helps us with wages and means they get the player they want. Also don't know why but got a feeling Luton did a similar trade last year?

Not sure on the Luton subject. Yes, i think the idea was to free up wages for us.

Got the luton bit wrong, they loaned him back out as opposed to trading players.

possibly not a priority but an experienced keeper and a Chelsea link, wouldn’t be a bad shout if true

Would prefer Daniel Bentley if we needed a keeper

I'm slightly feeling for King right now. Never been involved with football before.

Comes out of last season having had a fantastic cup run finishing with two close games against Premiership clubs. He's lost O'Hare, but gained a good replacement and topped up the squad. We thump Everton in a pre-season friendly. You would think everything was go go go for the top 6.

Instead we are languishing in our historical place in the Championship pre-relegation - just below halfway in the Stoke-Bristol holding pattern. Suddenly there is a need for a complete overhaul and players central to last season are now deemed not good enough, Simms and Kitching spring to mind. Others from last season are clearly out of form - Tats, MVE, Collins.

So we have to start all over again. And that will cost

EXCLUSIVE: Galatasaray are interested in Milan van Ewijk.

Milan van Ewjik's agent has been contacted and asked about Coventry and the player's financial demands.

Who would want to own a football club

On a serious note, I’m always shocked at the amount of people who want to buy one, the business is like no other. There’s no predictably like other businesses and your consistently reminded how while you own the business, it’s not yours and your just a custodian.

Big fan of the 50+1 model but could you imagine us lot trying to organise the club

I still like him despite his iffy form this season, but if its good money you'd take it.

Sell if we can right? Good player but could enable us to get a decent amount in to start the Lampard rebuild?

Totally agree @Gibbo

I know I am pro King because I believe he has done what he said he would do, and many many owners of our past over many decades, talked a big game but were light on action.

Football is about fine margins ….. Bassette scores his 1 v 1 to make it 2 nil against Pompey, Rudi taking his chance yesterday and we are suddenly flying and with an outside chance of the play offs.

I suspect we will see at least 3 new additions this window and hopefully they help us find that extra 5% that will see us win more matches than we do today.

Frank needs to build a squad he wants and the current lot needs reshaping over the next 2 windows. MVE, Sheaf and Wright will probably move on or be cashed in by summer. That would give a transfer kitty of at least £20-25m plus any further Vik cash.

Don’t disagree although would hope to keep one of the three (likely Sheaf) just for continuity in the new squad

More double digit - that was the number in summer late on I believe? (Certainly north of 6)

Think the rumor was £9.5 million if not wrong. Also we’ve got to keep in mind we’ve got a sell on fee for Milan

Out of the 3 Sheaf is most likely to stay. I don’t think a Premiership team will come for him, so his best bet is to get out of the league with us and learn under Lampard. Depends if he signs a contract or not. If he doesn’t then we have to cash in by next summer.

Suspect he will in summer - either with us getting offer too good or him pushing for l”move.

No he’s not sadly. Maybe had his head turned. Based on this news since if not wrong both are big European clubs.

Based on one good season, and not even the current one, we've been lucky to get the £3m we paid for him back.

I don’t think he’ll have ambitions to stay for a 3rd season in the Championship. He’s our most valuable asset as well. Could easily demand £15m+.

To be fair this is what we promised and sold all the players, is that we’ll get them a top move with or without us.

For our model to continue we’ve got to deliver this premise like we did with Vik

I think he has enough credit in the bank that he has big potential. He’s still young. We should be able to get a decent sum for him. Someone will pay £6m I reckon.

All about potential though isn’t it. See crazy fees now a days for players we haven’t even played a minute of first team football

I agree MVE could go for more than £6m but his form this year has been very inconsistent so I reduced my expectations from the summer.
