It's really weird that people have to keep asking people about King, honestly, in decades of going to football I've never seen anything like it.

Ife said in numerous posts he a much better owner than sisu but its not enough, you cant criticise him at all. Its incredibly strange

People can criticise but others don't have to agree. Certain things people might think he's done wrong, I probably won't agree, I think he's got it mostly right including some bits that got him a lot of stick.

Yeah, but it still amazes me that people swallow the kool aid and rather than judge each action in its own right just defend everything he does.

But this is, a great bit of business so I don't think many will take issue.

You're totally within you're right to do that. But I'm wary of him.
I don't like F1 any more than Doug likes football.
If I was very wealthy no way I wake up on a Sunday morning owner of an F1 team.
It could be totally innocent but anyone who's not questioning of him after what we went through really needs to be a bit more questioning.

If its all above board, then great. And hopefully it is.

Fair play. I'm not in love with the geezer, don't get me wrong. I'm just enjoying what he is providing us with vs what we've been used to for the last God knows how many years. I think its easy to start taking for granted.
If someone with deeper pockets and good intentions wants to pick it up from him, then happy days. They have my blessing.

Swans fans so salty about Grimes, maybe just maybe they don't have the players to suit Grimes game, maybe their style of play doesn't suit him.

They keep talking about him slowing everything down but they don't have the likes of EMC or Wright who attack fullbacks at pace or have an outlet like MVE who has serious pace, imagine recycling the ball with Grimes picking out those players and getting at the opposition at speed, imagine with BTA running in behind defenders and Grimes put passes over the top or through for him to run onto, imagine if Sheaf got back to the player we all know he is in midfield with him and Torp and Rudoni.

This is a top signing, hopefully a few more and we're good

He's pulled the stops out with Grimes, brilliant, wouldn't argue with that.
Even if it has to be paid for with a sale.
I've never expected him to throw around cash he hasn't got.

Yeh we know what can happen to clubs who go too far with that.
Luckily we have saleable assets. The Brentford model that everyone banged on about for so long, seems to be the way forward now.

Genuinely bonkers reading their forum. Acting like they can only play slow, boring football because he's in midfield like the manager couldn't change it.

Mate it's unreal some of the comments, and throw in the fact he's never injured and has played 50 games in some seasons for them, bet they loved him when he captained them to 7 Welsh derby wins but now he's a rat

Mental for a set of fans to claim one DM is responsible for slowing down play on his own. Thank God you’d never see us doing that.

To be honest I’d be happy with our January now if this was all we did I wanted a senior experienced CB and RB but with Kitching stepping up and the current squad performing as they have I wouldnt mind keeping it as it is until the summer then inevitably selling MvE and Sheaf to build the rest of the squad for promotion next year

Very happy with this signing, a bit of experience and also stats wise been one of the best in the league for last few seasons. The Instagram clip someone posted about how he leads but also delegates responsibility is probably exactly what we need

You have be got to be kidding. Hannover average over 38000 a week in Bundesliga 2. There are a lot of big clubs in Bundesliga 2 and had a game with 71500 at last week, Hertha Berlin v Hamburg. Hamburg took a staggering 20k there.

I’d actually view him as the long term Sheaf replacement. Only 6 months left on his contract but they have an extra year option. Could probably snag him on a deal with a loan back till the summer.

Very happy with Grimes, seems almost the perfect signing as we plan to move to a possession game when everyone is fit (still hope to use the 5-3-2 though when against the parachute teams).

Would be happy if it ended now with Grimes and all our key players stayed, but if I was greedy would love a perm RB and a RW on loan.

If I was looking for the RB, would be looking at someone to develop to replace Milan to that end someone like Brodie Spencer from Huddersfield.

For the RW assume Chelsea have some good

Not trying to devalue your point here but football is generally loads cheaper for fans over there. Ticket and travel that is.

Not sure what salaries the 2.B clubs offer.

Love German football. Went to a few games last year. Match day experience is next level in the top 2 tiers. They have structured their football well - about the fans and community (in the main) whereas here its all about the £.

The CEO of Bayern made the point that their revenue is 100’s of millions. They know they could charge more for match day tickets as we do in England BUT it would only add a few million to revenue so it would not make much difference to the club but would have a huge negative impact on their fan base.

UK club owners do not think like that, largely because most clubs are loss making due to the crazy salaries we pay our players relative to other countries.

The biggest difference in the last few windows is we’re not seemingly under pressure to sell. That’s huge if you’re trying to build something. It allows you to get good money for the likes of Gyokeres and Hamer and re-invest. It’s night and day to where we have been in the recent past.

Lampard was pretty coy on the last days of the transfer window, personally think we'll see one more whether that's Paterson or someone else or both. Any updates from the ITKs on what to expect?

Sorry if the point has also been made earlier on but is also not the case that German clubs have a large percentage per club of fan ownership?

The tickets are cheaper but the travel costs are still high. Fuel prices in the Fatherland are similar to the UK and the train service that used to be the pride of Germany is about as reliable as our trains now.

Simple search but this suggests you can still go almost twice as far for half as much on a train so not sure that’s true.

Depends what train you get. They have a lot of fast trains with fewer stops which are more expensive. The trains that stop at more stations are cheaper. I lived near Hamburg for 14 years and it was always the case then. Went back for Euros last summer and the inter city trains were not cheap. Dortmund to Berlin for the final was €142 return.

It’s the same here tbf. Going to London is always cheaper on the slow train. I think we have a lot more variation. When we’re expensive we’re really expensive. I’ve tried to get last minute returns to London from Cov and seen them over £100, and that’s a third of the distance of Dortmund to Berlin.

Again, slightly different tangent but my experience of trains there has been a fair bit cheaper than here. And my travel during the Euros last year was all free, if you had a match ticket.
