So our player was in our own half and was off side?

No he was offside in their half but came back from the offside position and "interfered" with the ball (which is the offence) back in our half. The freekick is where the offence (interfered with the ball/play) happened. I think this just have been changed when we stopped just giving offsides for offsides and started waiting to see if there was any interference in play.

Telegraph just did a list of free agents so far.

If we could, I would look at Jon Swift (29), would be good just to get experience in the centre of midfield.

Cheers for clearing that up. Part of the confusion for me was the ref indicated where the kick was. Then as he ran off a player threw it forward onto the half way line. Then they swopped who was taking the kick and he threw it forward again a yard into our half.

Just seemed like the normal yard pinching players do every week and get away with. Like a free kick they had where the ref sprayed his line and put the ball on it. Then their player walks up and still moved the ball a foot further forward.

I wish we had the funds to bring in a goalkeeper and an entirely new back four.

We won't have 4 keepers , Dovin needs to be given a recent no of games.

I agree, but something must be happening with Dovin behind the scenes if that clown Collins is ahead of him

Kieran Tierney is not going to be given an extension at Arsenal. So will be moving on in the summer as free agent. I imagine his salary is way out of our league, but I wonder whether a 6 month loan might be interesting to him? He’ll not likely be getting any minutes at Arsenal? Not that our back line would be attractive to be a part of !!

Collins probably looks a great stopper in training with no pressure on him! He has an inherit problem that he cannot cope mentally with the high pressure of match day. You can see him fretting when the opposition player get around him. Too brittle in mindset to be a championship player.

Quite possibly, but I dont think anything has been signed yet as they will want him as a free agent. Arsenal could offset some dead wages by sending him out for last 6 months.

Mate he’d be the best player in the league by a mile if he dropped down, not a chance in a million years

Would not surprise me if we signed Louie Barry, sort of player bling would bring in as a bit of a wonderkid even though he’s the last position we need anybody in

Can’t see us doing much business. But ideally we need:
GK who can actually stop shots
Centre half that can mark a player and head a ball.
Left back that isn’t a dwarf and can defend
A right back so we don’t run MVE into the ground
CM that can read the game defensively so runners don’t constantly get beyond them
Preferably a couple of the above will be experienced with good leadership qualities

Think we will do less business than many are hoping for...

Tyler Bindon is possible as we could include Tavares as part of a player plus cash deal (Reading wanted him in the summer).

I think it will be him (or similar) and a left back, that's it. Only thing which could change that will be if Viktor moves early in the window.

They’ll be able to get Tavares for free in the summer. I can’t see there be a lot of competition to sign him.

Really need more. Need Doug to admit he got it wrong this year and put his hand in his pocket for some experience.

Some great options for both CB and DM.

Would personally try to get Lindsay from Preston and Barlaser from Boro. Would love Kai Wagner if we could get it over the line. After that loans to tidy up some depth

Think it’s more likely we just let him go out of contract tbh

Agree - I’d be surprised if there was genuine interest above League 2.

More one for the summer, but I read that Callum Wilson is going to leave Newcastle on a free at 32 might now be the time to return to his hometown club if a couple of our current forwards left.

To be honest, while we would have no chance, Imagine the amount of money he would make the club in merch even if he barely played.

Happened with Aaron Ramsey at Cardiff so can live in blind blind optimism

Remember we failed (again) to get a midfielder over line - there was some legs in billing. Either on loan or perm - we must get some dynamism / progression in there.

I think we will get no more than 2 players in, but also I think that could be enough to be the difference.

Not the story I wanted to hear.

Wanted to hear that he’s a complete bastard, used to smash up your Amazon parcels with his head and kick your door in if you boiled the kettle “because it was too loud”.

We have nice players already.

I can’t give you that clarity unfortunately mate.

I can tell you though he might help the Kitman with the kit though.

remember seeing Junior Bacuna and him carrying about 7 clothes racks into his flat. Clearly likes doing his washing.
