If we pretend that's true for a minute, every agent with half a brain will be pushing for £25k a week every single time. But it's not, so lets not worry about it.

Despite that I’d be amazed if at his next club Schlupp is on more than 25k. He’s 32, needs to drop a division and will prefer the security of a longer contract than one last pay day.

He's played in the PL for 10 years. I can guarantee he's not on 25k pw.

Looks like he played on the left wing for Chelsea against Morecambe a few weeks ago

To be fair to Turner he is reporting that someone else has said that and the actual story is have 3 players we'd like on loan and he is one of them

If we were going to loan someone, cover for the right wing makes a lot of sense

If you had any reading comprehension you’d have realised the discussion was that he wasn’t coming here as he was currently on 50k a week.

I argued he would have to drop his wages at his age, coming down a league and likely would for the security of a longer contract

Nothing annoys me more than people assuming players will keep earning the same wage forever despite their age, actually drives me up the wall.

With loans though can’t we just pay a proportion of his wages like Man Utd are doing with Antony?

Add that to us not being able to afford free agents wages.

Thought we were rumored to be offering him a full deal to keep him beyond his loan?

Sometimes clubs will even part pay for a proportion of time to get them off the bill.

Schlupp was always going to go to the wire. Sounds like Palace are hoping for the higher bidder to pay as much of his wages as possible or might even pay him off.

Would be especially sweet to see them finish 3rd and fail in the playoffs. Added bonus would be us knocking them out!
