Expect this to be financed in the main by BTA going to Blackburn. They came back in for him yesterday. Slightly above what we paid for him

Would take this. Sensible trading for me.

Hope we could still get a loan in maybe also.

If this true maybe those links to the Wycombe striker are genuine.

Still got Simms and Bassette

Haji, EMC, Sheaf all back within the next 2 weeks

Also to get the best of EMC we'll need to pivot to 3 up top be it 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 anyway

A profit in 6 months for BTA wouldn't be a disaster, I do feel like he'd come good eventually but if it meant we could secure Grimes I think I'd twist.

Only worry is how would we set up until Haji is back. I guess we havent tried Norm playing off Simms yet. I do feel we'd miss BTAs energy from the current set up, what he lacks in finesse he makes up for in running round like a nutter

I think it is too early to let Thomas Asante go. We have not seen the best of him.

Taking a profit on him after the 6 months he’s had is business too good to turn down

Can’t see this one happening until after the game Saturday. No way they let someone of his quality leave to a team they’re playing

Could still be done. Have seen moves in past where player moves and clause inserted to miss the game. Scott Parker, Charlton to Chelsea springs to mind.

I'm 50/50 on this. If he wants to come, his head wont be in it so they may not play him

As a fan it'd be a nightmare for sure, but as the owner you can't let time escape, you've got to take £4m for an almost 30 year old rather than have someone sulking and losing value

Wonder if we go 541 until then, Saka and Rudoni wide and Grimes and Torp in the middle.

I expect that would be the case. Agree the move in principle but it cant be come "official" til after we play them.

Legally you can't do this as once he is out player we have the right to play him, but in the past "gentleman's agreements" (which aren't legally binding) can be made not to play a player. I guessing that could be the case.

Maybe a gentleman’s agreement like Jukebox where we promise not to play him?

If it is Grimes, i know the talks with the agent have been going on for a long time, so there's a good probability the player is wanting the move.

Might be good news if so as means we’ve already done all the hard work in regards to the contract

We’ll play similarly to how we did last season in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with Haji and EMC as our wide players. There’ll be plenty of energy from Rudoni to chase down defences, it was often the case that our defensive shape was a 4-4-2 in the early FL days too.
