Fair enough BTA has improved . Back to the original point. After being so definite about throwing money around on 3 new signings have you now changed your mind ?

I mean more for the summer. If not the only gaps are RB and RW

We’ll replace him in the summer. It’s clear Lampard is going to use Burroughs as MVE understudy.

We don’t even play RW at the moment and I’d imagine if we do then one of Wright or EMC will be the RW cover

While I like the player, it would be a lot of wages on a utility player imo. With how midfield has been doing and with Sheaf returning. Would we be better looking at a RB for Milan and a Sheaf Replacement?

Mate Schlupp would come in with a view to a permanent move I believe, the midfield is doing well but an addition of a player of Schlupp calibre would be massive, we need him in

Silly question then, everyone is back. Who would Schlupp play in front off. Just as wage wise he would be on around 20,000 to 25,000K so on that wages he needs to be a key starter.

Dont get me wrong, if he would be the sheaf replacement great but if not it’s a lot of wages

We’re all young at heart.

back to your original point, if players aren’t leaving we can get away with what we have. At the time we had switched to 532, wasn’t looking great and had gaps in our 433. With EMC, Wright, Sheaf soon the perspective is changing

Lampard has certainly found a way to get the best out of what we have. I actually share the same opinion as you regarding the remainder of this window Schlupp would be a phenomenal addition to the squad but re any others I am more than happy to wait until the summer when things are likely to change anyway with at least a couple of exits which brings decent money in . The biggest bonus of this Lampard era to date has been the rapid development of Torp. That's the kind of player Lampard loves working with.

Hard that one because at the min the midfield is performing, but they can't sustain these levels longterm as fatigue creeps in, Schlupp's ability and experience alone would be guaranteed a starting place but the 3 in there now are doing really well and would be unfair to drop any of them currently, it a nice headache for FL/JE to have lol

I’d rather have Lewis, just as I think he’s a brilliant box to box who fills in for Allen who has a good few years ahead.

But let’s be honest both of them are good players.

Again another quality MD but for me I'd rather have Schlupp; more experienced, more prem apperances, more versatile

I don't think we panic at the moment if things hadn't been clicking yet I'd be shouting for a signing but I really only want us to but players that will improve us at the right price... January isn't renowned for that approach. More changes could also set back the progress we have made unless they are a superstar or play in a team with the same ethos... We aren't going down and playoffs seem a stretch... Id stick until summer continue to bed this group in see what they have and use any cash saved then.

Wins have pulled us from the must do something to the stand back and take the best option if it presents itself. In reality Dovin, Allen and Torp have been the three “new” players we needed.

Last 2 seasons have been the same. We could end up weak towards the end if we don’t get a couple in.

Not so long ago I didn't think he was worth a place in the squad either but now he is playing in his preferred position he looks quite useful. Similar thing happened when Lampard played EMC on the left wing.

PS Using DaSilva as a wing back is also playing someone where he can look OK.

I’m waiting for DaSilva to grow a bit. Might turn into a good defender one day.

Doubtful. I think Kyle will be happy to stay at Southampton for the next 6-months & then pick up a free agent contract.

Why is the at clear? He is yet to make an appearance on the bench.

We don’t play a RW because we don’t have 2-3 wingers to play. Things will different when Wright and EMC return - that point is actually clear.

If you only have 1 winger fully fit and available, how can play a formation that requires 2?

Looks like Burnley and Blackburn are in for Lewis O'brien (I know it's FLW but....)

"Can afford his salary" - Pundit backs Burnley to beat Blackburn Rovers in race to sign Nottingham Forest man

FLW spoke exclusively to Carlton Palmer for his verdict on the race for Nottingham Forest's Lewis O'Brien.

Nixon ruled Blackburn out today and with Burnley just signing Shelvey might not be likely. Could be wrong tho.

I would suggest if Lampard has any ‘pull’ it would be with a central midfielder around the age of 25. So someone like Lewis O’Brien may prefer to work under Lampard than another coach.

Again might be nothing but if we sign the hector lad, assume the plan would be as an understudy for when Sheaf goes. Plus got Allen who could continue and mentor him ( can’t believe where we were with Allen but he’s been brilliant).

Think posh is having a bad season so the whole team is suffering he's a good player and I rate him, same as Wigan's no 10 Thelo Aasgaard both I'd target in the summer.
