22/23 back five risk averse low block, then yes Bidwell's aerial ability and general defensive instincts are what you want. Almost two years removed from that and under a more progressive coach, stylistically he doesn't fit and only regresses as time goes on. Dasilva defensively isn't good but he fits the style more than Bidwell. Either way I'd rather try and recruit two new LBs.

Not really, FL started his time here by having the left back tuck in hen we have the ball to create a 3-2-5 shape and that is not a bad fit for Bidwell.

It depends on how the teams shape in possession is when he has the players he wants in midfield.

God that’s depressing. Should be letting Bidwell go and still trying to offload Dasilva.

Need to be careful about doing too much again in the summer.

There's quite a lot of potential exits which will need replacing if they leave.

Adding more to our already potentially overloaded plate isn't the best strategy.

I don’t get the argument he’s a leader either. He’s never been anywhere near the captaincy throughout a period where we’ve tried half the squad.

Not all leaders need to be the captain. He's a leader I think in the sense that he's a very good professional, trains well, listens. He's a talker on the pitch too.

Whether he's a natural leader or not in the traditional sense he's a senior player with a huge amount of experience at this level.

FL and the coaches will probably look to him to set an example and guide the younger players in training and in matches.

Bidwell is a good steady full back and I feel far happier when he is the side than the other one who is hopeless.

Is quite like to see the team sporting a Perm; great to hear that it’s being negotiated.

All that’s left to wrangle, is the 80’s psycho cop moustache to go with the Perms.

Remember when Kenny Hibbitt got himself a perm ? The results were rather frightening.

Can we somehow spin the Gregg Downs “he's got no hair but we don't care” song?

Was hoping we'd have something done by the Bristol game tbh as these injuries are killing us a bit. That's the way of the Jan window though.

Jan window is a tough one compared to summer. Wouldn’t surprise me if there was movement in the last week of the window. Clubs won’t release players and vice versa unless they have got replacements etc lined up. It’s like a housing chain.

With FL i cant never tell if he is annoyed by the question or frustrated by the situation he finds the squad in. He really doesn't look like he wants to be sitting there. Which surprises me a little as i always thought he was good in media situations...

To be fair Robins was never a bundle of joy during media duties. Their job is what happens on the pitch

It's a room with You, Geoff Foster and maybe Andy Turner. Hardly something to get you revved up.

No I misread. He played more than JWE

Less than Maatsen, last two slightly less last season than Dasilva 30 mins more this season.

Still not exactly first choice.

WTF are you on about. He played 50 games in the play off season and 38 last season. 18 this season.

Robins had been trying to replace Bidwell for a while so it wasn't surprising that he was happy to let him go.

No real issue with him getting a new deal just as long as he isn't first choice next season. We really need to upgrade there.

We're one of 11 teams now not to have brought someone in, in this transfer window. With todays transfers, 13 of the 24 clubs in the Championship have brought at least one more player in.

Those other 10 teams probably don't have anything to play for either. Hopefully we're too good to go down, but we are nowhere near good enough to go up. Any money spent this Jan would be a waste.
