not sure why people want lati to leave, hes the nearest we have to a leader on the pitch, arguably more than sheaf, and hes versatile too.

Surely we’re not pinning out season hopes on Jamie fucking Patterson, the bloke who’s fucked us off so many times in the past?
This is a shambles of a window, let’s dump off Lati and BTA, and then see who is available.

He's a leader and seems like a nice guy. The only problem is he's actually pretty rubbish at football, the thing he's paid to do...

Paterson at best is just training at the club in his home town to stay fit

If there was even the remotest chance we'd sign him he'd be way down the list of signings

Jamie Patterson, great player just the old head and experience we need. The young lads will look up to him, he’s a leader maybe make him captain, always looking forwards and scores goals! What’s not to like? ( channelled my inner Hill83 there) hahaha

With Stoke in for BTA as well that makes a few clubs that are after a striker this window... Blackburn, Cardiff and Stoke.

Whilst Cardiff haven't been linked yet they are in the market for one at around BTA's price point.

Getting nearly £5mill for BTA and Lati is great business for a ~£3mill outlay.

It just goes to show our worry about wasting money is an overreaction. Players always have recoupable value in the right circumstances

Don’t know if I’ve misinterpreted.

I read it as BTA seems to get more slack.

If he’s training with the club then a deal is only offered if Lampard & the staff think he’s up to it…

He’s in no position to demand high wages so could be a way to add experience to the dressing room for a small outlay.

Gut feeling is that it’s bollocks though

Must have some agent to pull that one off. I'm from Cov, can I train there to stay fit too?

It's fairly common for professional players to train with clubs to keep fit.

We might even welcome it for the numbers with a few attackers out injured.

Guess we said we'd be more open to it in the summer unless they wanted to pay top dollar for him.

Yeh agreed, feels like loans and frees to plug gaps might be the way forward. It's rare to get your top targets in Jan.
I do still think we'll make 1 permanent signing for a fee though.

Is there a reliable source saying that Lati is off? Seems to be taken as true, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that is the case.

Agreed. Think we showed we have enough quality in the squad to avoid a battle this year. I think currently this squad isn't strong enough to get us out of this league, losing O'Hare was a bigger blow than we realised, so we need reinforcements.

Expecting a big churn in the summer though. Those who brought into the project but have excelled will be sold to fund the next bunch. Expect Sheaf, Haji and Milan at minimum to go but we'll be able to recoup £25-30mill, which gives us a big enough chest to sign a CB, LB, 2 RBs, 2 CMs and LW.

Hopefully by that point in time players like Dovin, Kitching, Thomas, Torp, EMC and Simms have developed a bit more bite and fight for the club, and are ready to help the new recruits dig us out of this league.

Saddle is the only place it's been reported. I guess that mixed with him being pulled form the supporters forum and not playing a minute on Saturday when we clearly could have used him gives it credance.
