Anyway back to transfers......

You lot are gonna laugh at this. I did. And if it happens it shows just how fucked we are. Not naming them yet as it's early stages, but they've been mentioned on here in a manner of ridicule for a good few seasons now.....

Congrats on saying absolutely nothing.

Not ex players no

Players that were consistently linked on here every single summer transfer window, yes

I can't think of an opposition player we consistently mention being shit on here tbh. Have too many of our own for that.

I'm told if they both go, that should give us the funds to PURCHASE the Chelsea CM.

Burroughs is being looked at as the Milan stand in until end of season, depending Lampards view

Shifting on then Tavares and Collins will mean we have funds to buy another player also
How confident are we in his ability to actually buy him!??!!
We need players that are going to come in and make us better than we are.
Anybody have anything decent on him/knows how good he is!?

I got ridiculed the other week for saying the club was good at suppressing leaks yet here we are 2 weeks into the window with so many rumours yet no concrete action. I wouldn't be surprised if we signed someone that's never even been mentioned.
Doesn't come from the club, it is usually agents who want a percentage.
Thought King had killed the leaks?

We're 66/1 to go down
We're 66/1 because of how poor other sides are and not how good we are. If they make good signings and start getting results and we stay the same our odds will soon shorten.

We're only 8 points off 24th and 22nd have played 2 games less.

As a stop gap who knows the league I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. Not every signing can be a worldie, especially in Jan.

Not over reacting at all. Stating facts

Cant lob 66/1 around like it's some sort of miracle if we get dragged into the bottom 3

I'm sure many of us have had a 66/1 plus accumulator / horse whatever come in

It's hardly lottery winning chances is it

It's not lottery winning odds no but it's a 1.5% probability, which feels about right.

I don't think we're in danger of going down, and I say that as someone that doesn't rate Lampard.

I'm with you with the memory thing, so I can't be trusted that far back. However, I do remember (correctly hopefully), Cattlin getting a lot of stick then there was something in the Telegraph saying his nickname was Spider. Suddenly, everybody thought he was brilliant and he responded accordingly.
Amazing how fans support (and a song) can elevate a player well beyond their actual ability. See Gary Breen and Mo Conjic.
I don't doubt your recollections, but Spider was a superb and reliable left back from a defensive point of view, and his popularity was justified. I doubt if he ever scored a goal though (I can't recall one) and I imagine he had very few assists. Those stats probably weren't gathered in those days.

I mean technically Viks goal per minute ratio has shot through the roof since leaving us
Yes but the improvement from when he first joined to when he left us was vast. Bearing in mind the play off season he was carrying an injury near the end. Small margins, but if he had been fully fit and Gus didn't get injured against Luton, it may have been a different outcome.
