Eustace has got an average squad performing well above expectations, if he were to go there he’d score goals I think

How much did we pay for BTA?

Listened to BTA last night at the Coundon Supporters evening, and you cant help but root for the guy... but then he goes through on goal and all of that is forgotten.

One thing I will say, is that he's not had a run of games in his best position, so it's hard to build up any rhythm. Watching the highlights from the WBA game last season, he looked a completely different animal to what we've seen, I fear the signing of Norman made him redundant however.

If we can move him on, and get in an actual right winger to rotate with Tats, then I'd do so, rather than trying to shoehorn him in on either flank.

Surely that's worth considering.

With Lati potentially going for a fairly reasonable profit the club hasn't lost anything if BTA is sold slightly less for what he was bought in for.

Around £3m I think because that was the deal Hull had agreed with WBA and we must have at least matched it.

You not what I’m starting to think we’ll have a chaotic end to this window especially with the outgoings

We do obviously need signings but with the squad as it is and the underlying metrics, there's no chance we go down

Again if we sell BTA wonder if we go back for Thomas. Assume Huddersfield would still do the deal

Says £2.25m rising to £3m

Thomas-Asante transfer fee revealed after West Brom exit

West Brom have sold Brandon Thomas-Asante to Coventry City and the true transfer fee has now been revealed from The Hawthorns.
www.westbromnews.co.uk

Interesting in this article they felt that had he of had longer on his contract he would have been worth even more (says £8m on here)

Are we as a club just not very good at handling forwards? Gyokeres aside we’ve had BTA, Chaplin, Tyler Walker, Simms, Clarke-Harris who all came in highly regarded who haven’t done so well at our club. Simms did last season but took him a while to get going and then he’s dropped right off again.

Are we doing something wrong?

Middlesborough about to lose Latte Lath (apols if already posted)

Seems teams are willing to do some big business this January.

Sellers market in January so I'm confident we can recoup most, if not all, of what we paid.

There are not many proven championship strikers available.

If we intend to invest the time into Bassette, it would make sense to accept the offer however, if both him and Lati go we will need a cb, rb, cm and a forward of some sort in January. Seems like an awful lot to do.

Spot on, feel sorry for him, he’s not had much of a chance, just unlucky that he’s in a position where there’s better players in front of him, more down to our crap recruitment, could have spent his fee on a position we needed

Think there’s a good player in BTA and I desperately want him to do well, it’s a gamble either way now with this apparent bid.

Tbh if Lampard is really trying to move on Collins, Tavares, Lati and BTA just a handful of games in, i'm pretty happy with his judgement. Just get Dasilva yeeted too and we're laughing.

If we can flip BTA and Lati and reinvest - centre mid / right back (loan perhaps until summer) and right winger it makes sense I think.

Nice lad, sat with his family at Bristol City away game, his old man was top, so nice. Sometimes it just doesnt work out and I think, we dont need him and Bassette.

Not a chance Doug accepts £1.75mill for BTA. We know the blokes to proud to take a loss of nearly 50% after 6 months.

I’d be inclined to agree but it would be an easy out for him to say that BTA doesn’t fit with the new manager’s plans and had to be let go.

Still I’m with you I think he’ll stay

On BTA; if we didn’t have Boateng as a coach we probably wouldn’t have him. We now don’t have Boateng as a coach so…

Be more than happy to move out BTA and FabTav to get in a CM and RB. That would give our squad the perfect balance and we'd just be trading players to improve the squad after.

Can I be honest I wouldn’t accept that for BTA. Either break even or keep him.

we are without Haji and EMC already.

we only have Simms, Bassette and Sakamoto who are comfortable playing in attack

Losing 50% on BTA in 6 months is ridiculous.

why would we accept Blackburns first bid too

I think BTA could succeed here in the right circumstances,I just don't think those circumstances will ever happen.
Cut our losses and reinvest and Good luck to the lad.

When we sign anyone, you'll call them sh*t anyway after a few games. Take a step back and calm down - control the things that you can in your life, and don't get so stressed about those things that you can't. For what it's worth, it's not necessarily ignorance regarding sleepwalking towards relegation, but maybe a mix of perspective and self-awareness.
